Antonio Bennett
Antonio Bennett, 28, of Pine Bluff died June 20, 2008.
He was born to Arnette Bennett and the late Felmon Lee Bennett Jr.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felmon Bennett Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Jimmerson.
Survivors: mother, Arnette Bennett; two daughters, Canesha Bennett, Fort Smith, Ark., Mahaila Willard, Louisiana; three brothers, Felmon Bennett III, Christopher Lavender and Larry Bennett, all of Pine Bluff; three sisters, Chandra Lavender, Tamekia Bennett and LaShonda Bennett, all of Pine Bluff.
Funeral service: Thursday, July 3, 12 noon, First Trinity COGIC, 800 Catalpa St., Rev. Lafayette Woods officiating. Burial: Henson Memorial Gardens by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Visitation: Today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
William Conner
Mr. William “W.E.” E. Conner, 79, of Pine Bluff died Friday, June 27, 2008.
He was born in Pine Bluff to the late Joe and Reftena Conner.
His survivors include wife, Truth Conner; stepsons, Harvey and Dennis Franklin of Pine Bluff; stepdaughters, Stella Smith of Detroit, Linda Parks, Alma Franklin, Pamela Franklin, Sheila Johnson, all of Pine Bluff, and Betty Ford of Round Rock, Texas; sisters, Delores Hill of Fresno, Calif., and Christene Wilson of Oklahoma City; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
His services will be Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Brown Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, by Rev. John Ford at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 2404 W. High St., Pine Bluff, Ark.
Rosie Culclager
ALTHEIMER — Rosie Lee Culclager, 98, of Altheimer died Saturday.
She was born April 10, 1910, at Toltec, a daughter of the late Tom Overton and Ozaner Huron Overton.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Carter of Chicago; two stepdaughters, Pinkie Culclager of Altheimer and Geneva Culclager of Pine Bluff; and one sister, Geneva Byrd of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jerusalem No. 3 Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Blood officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem No. 3 Cemetery by Roller-England Funeral Home.
The body will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. today until noon Saturday.
Johnnie O’Hara
CARTHAGE — Mrs. Johnnie Jo O’Hara, 69, of Carthage died Monday, June 23, 2008.
She was born in Carthage to the late Robert and Johnnie Mae O’Hara.
Her survivors include five sons, Billy (Laverne) Mitchell of Malvern, Robert (Sheila) Johnson of Pine Bluff, Lindsey (Veronica) Harris, Lee Harris of Carthage and Marquis Harris of Little Rock, a grandson whom she raised from birth as her son; three daughters, Paula Harris of Little Rock, Gwendolyn (Aldo) Chappell of San Diego and Penny Walker of Little Rock; a brother, Billy O’Hara of Carthage; two sisters, Rosie Smith and Mary O’Hara of Las Vegas; aunt, Elizabeth “E.J.” Oakley of Antioch, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Her services will be today, July 2, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Carthage, by Rev. Walter L. Hawkins Jr. at 12 noon. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Carthage.
Visitation was held Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 4:30-6 p.m. at Brown-Williams Funeral Home of Fordyce.
The family will be at 117 S. Short St., Carthage, Ark.
Willie Everett Jr.
GOULD — Funeral services for Willie (De De) Everett Jr., 60, of Gould, Ark., who died June 29, at JRMC, will be Thursday, 11 a.m., Mount Moriah MBC at Gould, Rev. John Spicer, pastor.
He was born March 26, 1948, in Fresno, Ark., son of the late Willie and Inez Blue Everett.
He was a member of Mount Moriah MBC, where he was chief usher.
He was an Army veteran. He was an auto mechanic for Trotter Ford.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra T. Everett; one son, Reginal (Tamara) Everett; four daughters, Lisa Davis, Kesha (Michael) Walker, Rosalyn (Chester) Hampton, Stephanie (Ralph) Green; five brothers, Robert Everett, Roy Everett, Frank Everett, Hillard Everett, Curtis Everett; three sisters, Annie Johnson, Shirley Williams, Carolyn Jasper; grandchildren.
Visitations may be made today 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Gould by Perry Funeral Home.
Ruthie Driver
HUMPHREY — Mrs. Ruthie Lee Driver, 85, of Humphrey died Friday, June 27, 2008.
She was born in Pastoria to the late Eddie and Emma Dedrick.
Her survivors include sons, William Driver of Cerritos, Calif., and Tony Driver of Crawford, Texas; daughters, Jettie Geans and Stella Driver of Chicago, Emma Morelon of Stuttgart, Dora Perry and Judy Stephens of Pine Bluff, Janice Cummings of Houston and Mildrie Williams of Humphrey; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Her services will be Thursday, July 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Humphrey, by Rev. Arthur Hughes Jr. at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart.
Visitation will be today from 5-7:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church Thursday from 10:15 until time of service.
The family will be at 117 S. Hickory St., Humphrey, Ark.
Cecil Dunn
TINSMAN — Cecil Waters “Pete” Dunn, 91 of Tinsman died Monday at Bradley County Medical Center at Warren.
He was born Feb. 20, 1917, at Watsontown, a son of the late Joseph Waters Dunn and Ruth Ella Watson Dunn.
Survivors include one daughter, Janie Reaves of Tinsman; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tinsman First Baptist Church, with Jerry Evers and Bill T. James officiating. Burial will be in Watson Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
Memorials may be made to the Watson Cemetery Fund.
Ollie Savage
WARREN — Ollie Mae Savage, 92, of Warren died Tuesday at Wagnon Place Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 20, 1916, in Drew County, a daughter of the late Emmett Hogue and Sophie Measels Hogue.
Survivors include two sons, Elmon Savage of Pine Bluff and Richard Savage of Warren; one daughter, Nancy Savage Harton of Warren; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter. Arrangements will be under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
