F.W. Turner
F.W. Turner age 83, Pine Bluff, died Thursday, July 31, 2008.
He was born Aug. 28, 1924, at Princeton, a son of the late Samuel and Nancy Cheatham Turner.
Mr. Turner was reared and educated in Dallas County and graduated from Princeton High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army Air Corps, during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College.
He began his teaching career at Mt. Holly, and was a science teacher at Watson Chapel High School from 1952 through 1970. He operated his own business, Turner TV Service for a number of years. He also worked as a catfish farmer and developed a golf course on his property at Princeton. He authored a book, “The People of Princeton,” which was published in 2007.
F.W. was preceded in death by his wife, Bobby Sue Williams Turner, whom he married Nov. 25, 1953 at Pine Bluff. Mrs. Turner died in June, 2001; two brothers, Winston and James Howard Turner.
Survivors include four sons, Lee Turner of Pine Bluff, Robert Turner of Converse, Texas, Andy Turner of Princeton, and David Turner of White Hall; one daughter, Susan Turner Shuff of Pine Bluff; three sisters, Nellie Jo Evans of Princeton, Evelyn Lee of Winslow, Ariz., and Norma Ruth Ault of Little Rock; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services with Rev. John Hagan officiating.
Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Susan Turner Shuff at other times.

Rex De La Hunt
Rex J. De La Hunt, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born March 15, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of the late Reverdy Rex De La Hunt and Ethelle Flook DeLaHunt. Mr. De La Hunt was reared and received his early education in Cedar Rapids. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. De La Hunt moved to Pine Bluff in 1948 and was a painter for the Pine Bluff Arsenal for 33 years before retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Quapaw Masonic Lodge #730, American Legion and the DAV.
Mr. De La Hunt was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McNeill De La Hunt, whom he married March 31, 1943 in Pine Bluff; his parents; daughter, Margie Lea De La Hunt; and two brothers, James De La Hunt and William De La Hunt.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Ann Wilson of Pine Bluff; two sons, Roger De La Hunt of Harrison and William C. De La Hunt of White Hall; two brothers, Jack De La Hunt of Iowa and Ted De La Hunt of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Dorothy Baker of Ogden, Utah and Jerri Potts of Decatur, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Gary Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Robinson's.

Connie Collins
DUMAS — Connie N. Collins, 85, of Dumas, Ark., born Jan. 14, 1923, Coleman Community (Lincoln County), Ark. and was the daughter of the late Frank and Thelma Sweeney Gibson.
Mrs. Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dumas, retired floral designer and an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.
Mrs. Connie departed this life in Dumas, Ark., on Aug. 1, 2008.
Survivors are a daughter, Duane Tucker, Dumas, Ark.; grandson, Greg (Sandy) Tucker, El Dorado, Ark., and granddaughter Tanya (Jeff) Wilkerson, Star City, Ark.; great granddaughter, Kaitie Tucker, El Dorado, Ark.; step great granddaughter, Blair (Scotty) Pennington, Hot Springs, Ark.; step great grandson, Bracy Wilkerson, Hot Springs, Ark., and three step great-great grandsons.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dumas, Ark., with Rev. Ben Leonard, Bro. Ross Woodbury and Rev. Leonard Ricketts officiating. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Faith Center in Dumas.

Joyce Wilbanks
MONTICELLO — Joyce Ann Carter Wilbanks, age 64, of Monticello, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at the Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born Feb. 6, 1944 in Monticello, Ark., to the late Moten Carter & Willean Tiner Carter.
She was employed by the University of Arkansas at Monticello Agriculture Research Center and was a member of the Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Her favorite hobby was watching and following Professional Bull Riding.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Vanoy Wilbanks of Coleman; two sons, Tiger Wilbanks and wife, Patsy of Vilonia and Christopher Carter Wilbanks and wife, Johnnie of Rogers; her daughter, Lisa Dillard and husband, Alan of Bryant; her brother, Paul Carter and wife, June of Bentonville; two grandsons, Carter Wilbanks of Rogers and Tyger Lane Wilbanks of Vilonia; five granddaughters, Lea Ann Grieb and husband, Aaron of Little Rock, Allison Weaver of Rogers, Mercedes Dillard of Bryant, Alex Dillard of Bryant and Tori Wilbanks of Vilonia; and many friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Buddy Lemons officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Springs Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home of Monticello.

Minnie Giaratano
POMPANO BEACH, FLA. — Giaratano, Minnie "Katherine", 78, of Pompano Beach, Fla., wife to the late Joseph Giaratano, passed away on July 23, 2008.
She lived most of her life in Plantation, Fla., and is survived by her four loving children; Barbara Thomas, Mark, Gregg and Stephen, as well as three grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Blake. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother and loving grandmother. She was the strength and wisdom of the family and will now be reunited with her soul mate of 58 years in the Kingdom of God.
A memorial service was held at St Henry Catholic Church, Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at St. Henry Catholic Church, Pompano Beach, FL.
