Charlotte Hodges
Charlotte Ann Vinson Hodges, 69, of Pine Bluff passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Southwest Regional Hospital in Little Rock.
A daughter of the late William Rainey Vinson, and the late Willie Mae Guest Vinson May, she was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Pine Bluff. She was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, attending Pine Bluff Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.
She was a secretary for Strong Manufacturing for several years, before starting her own interior decorating business, Traditional House Interiors.
She was very active in her community and was a devoted supporter of the works of the Salvation Army, serving as a member of the board and past president of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, where she took classes in water color.
She was a longtime devoted and active member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. She was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, the 20th Century Study Club, and the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She served as chairman of the Special Decorations Committee and of the Flower Committee. She also served as an Associate Teacher of the Ladies Bible Class.
She was also a member of a bridge group, a supper club and in earlier years a member of President Circle Le Fleur Garden Club. She was always an active and supportive mother, grandmother and aunt. When her children were young, she made sure to take them camping as often as possible, and every year there was a family vacation to Florida. Her family was very important to her and brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Edmund C. Hodges Jr.; and an older sister, Lucy Lee Stewart.
She is survived by her children, Susie Clement and husband, Tommy, of Summit, Ark., and Eddie Hodges III and wife, Debra of Pine Bluff; two grandsons Kyle Hodges of Pine Bluff and Chris Clement of Summit; and two nephews, Jay Stewart of Elco, Nev., and Ray Stewart, Jr., of White Hall.
Memorial Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at First Baptist Church Pine Bluff.
The family will receive friends at 2 Westridge Drive at 6 p.m.

Lori Roush
BISMARCK — Lori Ann Roush, 44, of Bismarck died Saturday at Hot Springs.
She was born Jan. 7, 1964, at Hammond, La., a daughter of Jack and Betty Shinn, both of Dumas.
She was a retired truck driver and member of Antioch Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Richard Roush; two brothers, Roger Burkett and Dwight Burkett; and two sisters, Brenda Lee Fraser and Darlene Ormes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church at Dumas. Burial will be in Walnut Lake Cemetery by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas.
Ann Sullivant
HOT SPRINGS — Ann O. Sullivant, 68, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at St. Joseph Mercy Health Center.
She was born May 1, 1940, in Pine Bluff, to John Calvin and Cula Clement O’Daniel
She was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.
Mrs. Sullivant had owned and operated Sullivant-Cross Realty Company in Pine Bluff for nine years. She also had worked for Wilson-Rodgers and Associates Real Estate Company.
She attended Center Fork Baptist Church in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Sullivant was preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin O’Daniel and Cula Clement Smith; and her grandparents, Noah Handy and Beatrice Black Clement.
Survivors include a son, John T. Sullivant Jr. and his wife, Katrina of Hot Springs; and a daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Sullivant Morris and her husband, Jeff of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Sullivant was the proud grandmother of three grandsons, Stephen Daniel Sullivant of Hot Springs, Joshua Adam Morris of Dallas, and Sky Morris of Little Rock.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. John T. Sullivant Jr., Mrs. Elizabeth Sullivant Morris and Rev. Hezekiah Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Clement Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Robinson’s.
The family will be the home of Gary and Julie Sullivant, 5702 Hampton Parkway, Pine Bluff, Ark.

Sidneigh Maynard
STAR CITY — Sidneigh Paige Maynard, 17, of Star City died Friday.
She was born Oct. 22, 1990, in Pine Bluff to Lee Maynard and Le Ann Harris.
She attended St. Joseph High School, where she was going to be a senior. She was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Star City. She attended Girls State, was an Arkansas Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society, a cheerleader, played volleyball and softball.
Preceding her in death was her uncle, Michael Harris; maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Estelle Floyd, G.P. Jr., and Margie Harris; paternal great-grandparents, George Ivy Primm, Henry L. Ivy, Houston and Venia Morgan, Ann Maynard; step-grandparents, Espa and Arlene Bennett.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Lee and Leanne Maynard of Star City; mother and stepfather, Le Ann and Mark Bennett of Star City; three brothers, Nicholas Maynard, Zach Bennett, Jason Bennett and wife Jessie, all of Star City; one sister, Peighton Maynard of Star City; maternal grandparents, Pete and Virginia Harris of Star City; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Peggy Morgan of Star City, Joe Maynard of Pine Bluff, Buddy and Linda Davison of Star City; aunt, Kristi Williams of Conway; uncles, Ronnie Morgan of Star City, Jimmy Harris of Vilonia, Jeffery Harris of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Brother Bruce Huddleston officiated. Burial was in Drake Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Zade Holloway, Ben McGriff, Zach Wygal, Jared Heiles, Tyler Thompson, Tim Ogg, Craig Culliford, Chaz Jones, Joshua Dickey, Dillon Rupe. Honorary pallbearers were Zach Bennett, Jason Bennett and Beau Warren.

Marie Ashcraft
WHITE HALL — Marie Ashcraft, age 83 of White Hall, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008.
Born Aug. 16, 1924, at Pansy, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Emit Tooke and Myrtle Byrd Tooke.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and worked with her husband in their family business, Arkansas White Rock Inc. for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, James Othel (J.O.) Ashcraft, to whom she was married on Aug. 30, 1942, at Sheridan; a son, James R. Ashcraft of Jefferson; three grandsons, Richard Ashcraft of Tampa, Fla., Ronnie Ashcraft of White Hall, and Michael Ashcraft of Nashville, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Bradley Ashcraft, both of Sheridan and Sophia Leigh Ann Ashcraft of Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Donald Ray Ashcraft officiating. Private committal services will be in Mount Ida Cemetery near White Hall.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Narvil Harrod
SUMMIT, Miss. — Narvil Dwayne Harrod, 72, of Summitt, Miss., formerly of Warren, Ark., died Sunday at Southwest Medical Regional Center at McComb, Miss.
He was born March 19, 1936, in Bradley County, a son of the late Simmie Edward Harrod and Hattie Mae Rabun Harrod.
Survivors: wife, Patricia Ann Smith Harrod; sons, Michael Harrod, James Harrod, Dwayne Harrod; daughters, Denise Crumble, Samantha Harrod, Evelyn Owen, Pamala Nichols, Monique Stivers, Dallas Harrod; brothers, George Harrod, Rudolph Harrod; sisters, Clara Mae York, Lucille Hicks, Lorene Vail, Patricia Mayfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 10 a.m. Thursday in Union Hill Cemetery near Ingalls. Arrangements are by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Bobby Miller
MILWAUKEE — Bobbie Joe Miller, 61, of Milwaukee died July 29 at St. Mary Hospital at Milwaukee.
He was a son of Bessie Miller of Longview, Ark., and the late Zebedee Miller.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Mount Peleum AME Church.
Other survivors include one son, Bobby Joe Miller Jr. of Milwaukee.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Miller.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Peleum AME Church. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home of Monticello.
Richard Waters Jr.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Richard Russell Waters Jr., 74, was called to his heavenly home Friday, July 11, 2008.
Richard R. Waters Jr. was born to the late Ila Vera Monk and Richard Russell Waters Sr. Aug. 23, 1933, and reared in Watson Chapel, Ark. He was an amazing man of God who loved his family, friends and co-workers with an unconditional love that was a living example of Christianity in action.
He served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, missions leader and in many other capacities at churches where he and his family worshipped. Richard was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 27 years, serving and educating the boating public.
Richard’s 60-year career started at the age of 15 as a salesman with Kinney Shoe Store. In 1954 he moved from shoes to furniture where he transitioned from sales to management, marketing and product design working with major furniture manufacturers. For the last 14 years, Richard was employed at Haverty’s Furniture Store in management and sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sylvia Waters and Myrl Waters Cato; son, Richard Russell III.
Survivors: wife of 56 years, Molly Matthews Waters; daughters, Geneta Lasiter and husband, Cecil, and Cynthia Waters; sons, Chris Waters and wife, Debbie, and Del Walters and wife, Teri; grandsons, Russell Lasiter and Lukas Waters; granddaughters, Tiffany Lasiter Foster and husband, Donald, Crystal Waters and Callie Waters; great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Foster; sisters, Edna Studdard and husband, J.D., Jean Parrott, Jessie Lee Carter and husband, Howard, Barbara Price and husband, Bill and Lou Nicewonger; brother, Monroe Waters; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held July 15 at Trinity Hills Baptist Church. Arrangements were Greenwood Funeral Home at Fort Worth.
Arthur Littlejohn, 73, of Pine Bluff died Monday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
John “Stick” Nichols, 61, of Pine Bluff died Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Perry Funeral Home.
DUMAS — Katrena Thomas, 35, of Dumas died Wednesday at the Regional Medical Trauma Center at Memphis. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lee Andrew Huskey, 69, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Dumas, Ark., died Friday at Stoney Hospital at Topeka, Kan. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.
