Dorothy Gill
KINGSLAND — Dorothy C. Gill, 83, of Kingsland died Monday at her home.
She was born June 10, 1925, at Kingsland, a daughter of the late R.O. Granderson and Helen Herrington Granderson.
Survivors include one son, Bubba Gill of Kingsland; three daughters, Debbie Mills of Monticello, and Darla Russell and DeAnna Upp, both of Kingsland; two brothers, Jim Granderson of New Edinburg and Roy Gene Granderson of Rison; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce with the Revs. B.L. Blann and Jimmy Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery near Fordyce.
Robert Watkins Jr.
STAR CITY — Robert Edward Watkins Jr., age 71 of Star City, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008.
He was born Nov. 8, 1936, at Lakewood (Jefferson County), Ark., a son of the late Robert Edward Watkins Sr. and Gladys Davis Watkins.
He farmed in the Swan Lake community for a number of years, and retired as farm manager for Knox Nelson Oil after 15 years of service.
He was a member of Shepherd Hill Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, the Razorbacks, and his grandchildren’s sports.
Also predeceasing him is a sister, Carolyn Watkins Ridgway.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jewel Terry Watkins, whom he married on Dec. 29, 1955, at Altheimer; his children, Jeffrey (Carol) Watkins of Woodlawn, Kathy (David) Lorince of Stuttgart and Suzanne (Sharon) Watkins of Heber Springs; siblings, Jim (Gary Smith) Watkins of Little Rock, Debbie (Doug) Jacobs of Stuttgart, and Janet (Johnny) Haney of Cornerstone; and four grandchildren, Erin (Casey) Herring, Alan Lorince, Ryan Watkins, and Megan Watkins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Brother Harold Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is today, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

J.M. Beaty
WILMAR — J.M. “Dude” Beaty, 94, of Wilmar, passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Drew County.
He was a retired timber worker and cattleman and a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earla Wallace Beaty.
Survivors include one son, Albert Beaty of Monticello; three daughters, Nancy Gail Luna of Collierville, Tenn., Charlsie Kay Oxendine of Monticello and Darlsie Gay Stallon of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial in Union Cemetery at Rye by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Vida Patterson, 66, of Pine Bluff died Saturday at Baptist Hospital at Little Rock. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
James D. Scott, 80, of Pine Bluff died Sunday at Arkansas Convalescent Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Christian Way Funeral Home.
TUCKER — Amanda Richardson, 90, of Tucker died at Baptist Hospital at North Little Rock. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Christian Way Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
WHITE HALL — Dorothy Ann Harrison, 34, of White Hall died Saturday at Little Rock. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Time Church at White Hall. Arrangements are by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.
Visitation will be Friday.
