SALVATION ARMY PREPARES FOR HOLIDAY SEASON OPERATIONS

The Salvation Army will distribute applications for its Christmas sign-up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Oct. 24 at the Community Center, 501 E. 12th Ave.

Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 through 31 at the Community Center.

Clients seeking assistance for Christmas must bring these items with them:

Photo identification for head of household.

Social Security card for the head of household and all other household members.

Birth certificates for any children with different last names.

Adoption papers or guardianship papers for any children who are not the household’s natural children.

Proof of income or non-income (pay stub, Supplemental Security Income statement, income statement from the Department of Human Services).

Proof of expenses (copy of current utility bills, rental receipts, etc.).

Proof of address (piece of mail addressed to individual).

Clothing and shoe sizes for children, 12 and younger.

Toy wishes for each child (no individual toy may exceed $50 in value).

Income statement from the Department of Human Services is needed for all applicants.

All of this information is required to apply for assistance.
