RISON WILDCATS EXORCISE GURDON GO-DEVILS

GURDON — Rison’s offensive line paved the way Friday night in a 7-3A conference victory over Gurdon 34-8.

Rison’s offensive line was led by Justin Wilson, Corey Keaton, Cody Keaton, Marvin Suggs, Hunter Taylor, Jacob Wilson and Zach James.

Rison struck first when Keelyn Bourn dashed for a 56-yard touchdown run with 7:57 left in the first quarter. Bourn would score later in the first quarter on a 13-yard touchdown run putting Rison up 14-0.

The Wildcats (6-0 , 3-0) would add a 1-yard touchdown run by Trey Gerard to go up 21-0 at halftime. Bourn would get his third touchdown of the game on a 2-yard run with 3:08 left in the third quarter expanding the Wildcats lead to 27-0. The Wildcats’ last score came when Ben Gillete ran for a 33-yard touchdown run making the score 34-0.

Rison’s offensive attack was led by Keelyn Bourn who had 25 carries for 208 yards and three touchdowns.

“We showed some improvement tonight,” said Rison coach Clay Totty after the game. “We stepped up without our two starting tailbacks. We played more physical on defense, it was a big win for us on the road.”

Totty also praised the play of his offensive line. Rison will be at home next Friday as it hosts Fouke.
