Geneva Allen
Geneva Viola Allen, age 61, of Pine Bluff, died Oct. 19, 2008, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 16, 1947, in Kelso, Ark., a daughter of Nettie Lee Drewey Ratcliff of Pine Bluff and the late Harvey Henderson Ratcliff.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and an iron presser.
She is survived by her husband, Linn Allen Jr.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Carolyn Allen of Star City, Gary and Stacy Allen of DeWitt, Kevin and Alyss Allen of Pine Bluff; three brothers, J.D. Ratcliff, Darrl Ratcliff and Loyd Ratcliff, all of Pine Bluff; seven sisters, Evelyn McCuen of Bakersfield, Calif., Helen Laughlin of Scottsboro, Ala., Mary Folhertf of South Haven, Miss., Ruth Elliott and Doris Lemons, both of Dumas, Florence Roberts of Texas and Dot Herrington of Pine Bluff; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Ratcliff.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Gladys Dumas
Gladys Dilworth Dumas, 84, of Pine Bluff died Oct. 15.
She was born May 30, 1924, at Eaglemill, Ark., the daughter of the late Lucion and Mary Dilworth.
Her husband, John Dumas, two brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors: her sons, Calvin Johnson and Marvin Dumas, both of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Alice Ransom of Pine Bluff, Ark., Mary Sims of Texas, Helen Flint of Bearden, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at First Trinity COGIC.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens by Christian Way.
Julie Sanders
ALTHEIMER — Julie Esquivel Sanders, 50, of Altheimer, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at home.
She was born April 18, 1958, in Little Rock, daughter of Eugene and Mary Jasso Esquivel of Altheimer.
Mrs. Sanders was born and raised in Altheimer.
Mrs. Sanders worked at Terry Mac’s Cleaners.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda L. Clemmons; and two grandsons, Eddison Ray Owens Jr. and Dakota White Maglothin.
Other survivors include her boyfriend of two years, Benedo Gonzales of Altheimer; three children, Donna M. Adams of Altheimer, Daniel E. Clemons of Mississippi and Angie White of Rison; five sisters, Mary, Linda and Dora Craig, Lisa Harper and Nancy Burgess; six brothers, Junior, Jimmy, Tony, Johnny, Pete and Steve Esquivel; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. Buddy Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Bayou Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Lucille Preston
ASH FLAT — Lucille Murphy Preston, age 93, of Ash Flat, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008.
She was born Oct. 9, 1915, at Ash Flat, a daughter of the late Oscar Murphy and Maude Ritchie Murphy.
Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by 14 siblings, Maxine Bowden, Carl D. Murphy, Mildred Hastings, Harold Murphy, Norma Murphy, Hayden Murphy, Virgil Murphy, Mattie Brawley, Stella McJunkins, Raymond Murphy, Paul Murphy, Clevel Hughes, Melvil Murphy and Johnny Murphy; and a son-in-law, Ralph Gross.
She is survived by her husband of almost 75 years, Carl Franklin (C.F.) Preston Sr., whom she married on Nov. 18, 1933, at Salem, Ark.; a daughter, Rosemary Gross of Pine Bluff; three sons, Carl F. Preston Jr. (Sandy) of Monticello, Louis Preston (Myra) of Cherokee Village, and Scott Preston (Karen) of White Hall; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other loving friends and family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral chapel with Brother Edgar Dye officiating. Burial will be in White Hall United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Gross, Jeff Gross, Preston Gross, Kyle Preston, Darren Preston, Curt Preston, Scott Preston, Jr., Clayton Preston, Bryan Sizemore, and Kyle Kalkbrenner.
Visitation will be Thursday at 1 p.m. until service time.

Wilburn Styles
CONWAY — Wilburn “Bill” Styles, 84, of Conway, formerly of Benton, died Oct. 21, 2008.
He was born July 5, 1924, in Saline County, a son of the late Robert and Pearl Styles.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Styles of Conway and Gary Styles of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Barbara Gail Steel of Little Rock; one brother, Herman Styles of Popular Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Grace Greybill of North Carolina; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Cremation arrangements were by Ashby Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
James Harris
FORDYCE — James Earmon Harris, 94, of Fordyce died Saturday.
Survivors: three sons, Roy Harris and Lester Harris, both of Fordyce, and Charles Harris of Little Rock; two daughters, Dorothy Penix of Thornton and Marceil Bailey of Fordyce; four sisters, Irene Montgomery of Fordyce, Catherine Jacobs and Pearl Goodwin, both of Milwaukee, and Laceryne Jackson of Las Vegas; three brothers, J.D. Jordan, Troy Jordan and Oliver Jordan, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Enon Baptist Church at Fordyce. Arrangements are by Marks Funeral Home at Fordyce.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lee Miller Chavis
REDFIELD — Lee Miller Chavis of Redfield died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008.
He was a son of the late John Hamilton Chavis and Rebecca Gardner Chavis.
Mr. Chavis retired from the White Hall School District maintenance department in 1987. Having previously been employed for 37 years as a foreman at the Dr. Pepper bottling plant.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, A.E., John, Clifton, Floyd, and Hampton; and a sister, Hazel Richardson; and a granddaughter, Tracy Renee Thompson.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie Mae Franks Chavis, whom he married on Oct. 21, 1945; three daughters, Sherry Thompson (Noel) of Morrilton, Peggy Brandon (Jerry) of Redfield, and Judy Harden (Johnny) of Benton; a son, John Lee Chavis (Janet) of North Little Rock; a brother, James Chavis of Hardin; a sister, Lillian Anderson of Russellville; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; extended family, Brenda Langrell and Lynn Allen; and many other loving friends and family.
Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Noel Thompson officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.
The family will be at 228 Handley Road in Redfield.

Mary Wilson
SELMA — Mary Idelle Barrett Wilson, 85, of Selma died Tuesday.
She was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Selma, the daughter of the late John Barrett Sr. and Marie Brown Barrett.
She was a retired beautician and a member of Selma Methodist Church and was preceded in death by one son, David Allan Adams; and one brother, John Robert Barrett Jr.
Survivors include three sons, William Don Adams, Stanley Barrett Adams and Steven North Adams; two sisters, Dorothy Barrett Seamans and Lucile Barrett Wood; one grandson.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Selma Cemetery with Rev. Hardy Peacock officiating. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman.

April Knigge
WARREN — April Totsch Knigge, 34, of Warren died Sunday at Marsden.
She was born June 30, 1974, at Colorado Springs, Colo., a daughter of David Totsch and Pamela Simmons Totsch of Warren.
Other survivors include one daughter, Miranda Lynn Flanigan of Warren; one brother, David William Totsch of Dallas; and her grandmother, Opal Dekee of Hurst, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.
Lloyd Collins
ABITA SPRINGS, La. — Lloyd Vance Collins, 80, of Abita Springs, La., formerly of Pine Bluff, died Sept. 12.
He retired from International Paper Co., at Pine Bluff in 1990.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Collins; one daughter, Melody Huie; one brother, Billy Collins; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Portland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home at Hamburg, Ark.
Inez Jackson, 77, of Pine Bluff died Monday at home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
