Jerry Craig

HAMBURG — Mr. Jerry Craig, 71, of Hamburg, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at the Conway Regional Health System Hospital. Mr. Craig was a native of Ashley County and a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for most of his life. He graduated from the Fountain Hill High School in 1955. He was the Fire Chief for the Milo Volunteer Fire Department for the past 18 years and he was a very active Christian member of the Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church in Milo. He was a business owner and he worked for Georgia Pacific Forestry for 18 years.

He is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kyle Craig; his parents, Harvey & Beulah Knight Craig and two brothers, J.H. & Paul Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shelma Holland Craig of Hamburg; three children, Timmy Craig and wife, Gwen, of Hamburg; Kim Craig Bowden and husband, Mark, of Fountain Hill and Barry Craig and wife, Tina, of White Hall; two sisters, Sue Craig Stanley of Hamburg and Pauline Craig Bolin of Silsbee, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers are the members of the Milo Fire Department and Jay McClain. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Bobby Owens Jr.

WILMAR — Bobby Lee Owens Jr., 17, of Wilmar died Wednesday at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1991 in Monticello.

He was a senior at Drew Central High School and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Dupree Owens of Wilmar; father, Bobby Lee Owens Sr., of Monticello; and one sister, Gaberiello Owens of Wilmar.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home at Monticello. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery.

Doyle Morgan

CENTER POINT, LA. — Doyle Bynum Morgan, 79, of Center Point, La., died Friday in Pineville, La.

Born March 6, 1929, in Bradley County, Ark., he was a son of the late Benjamin Morgan and Jose Hamilton Morgan.

He was a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, and was preceded in death by his wife, Jonetta Morgan; and one brother.

Survivors include one son, Coy Beale of Columbia, S.C.; one brother; one sister; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors 2 p.m. Tuesday in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls, Ark., by Frazer’s Funeral Home.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lionel Green of Pine Bluff died Saturday at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center at Little Rock. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Henson Mortuary.
