Henry Adams
Mr. Henry Adams Jr., 65, of Pine Bluff died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008.
Born in Pine Bluff to the late Annie and Henry Adams Sr.
His survivors include daughter, Sadie LaGrone; brothers, Dave Foots and Curtis Adams, all of Pine Bluff, Sterling Adams of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Willie Adams of Oakland, Calif., Geraldine Brunson of Pine Bluff and Claudia Drayton of Merrillville, Ind.; four grandchildren.
His services will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at New Morning Star Baptist Church by Rev. Donald Agee at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10-12:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
The family will be at 6210 Middle Warren Road, Pine Bluff, Ark.

ames McKnight
Funeral services for James T. McKnight, 64, of Pine Bluff, who died Oct. 27, at his home, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Family Time Church, Rev. Elvert McKnight officiating.
He was born Aug. 17, 1944, in McCrory, Ark., son of the late Robert and Bellmonda McKnight.
He attended Townsend Park High School. He was a former employee of Mobil Waste Management for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Cameron Woods, Laron Woods, Laronica Woods.
Survivors: one daughter, Veronica Woods, Pine Bluff; two brothers, Joe L. (Linda) McKnight, Elvert (Grace) Mc-Knight, all Pine Bluff; three sisters, Erma (Ezell) Girley, Ola M. (Stanley) Davis, Ester Jackson, his caregiver, all of Pine Bluff; three aunts, Cloteen Thomas, Murgean Jackson, Rosie Barnes, all Pine Bluff.
Visitations may be made today 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial in Graceland Cedar Grove section by Perry Funeral Home.
Michael McMurray
Rev. Michael Charles McMurray, 77, of Pine Bluff died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008.
Born in Pine Bluff to the late Earnest and Josephine McMurray.
His survivors include sons, Gerald McMurray of Oakland, Calif., Michael McMurray Jr. and Larry McMurray of San Francisco, Calif.; daughters, Linda Jones of Stockton, Calif., and Anette Leggett of Oakley, Calif.; brothers, Willie McMurray of Milwaukee and Clem McMurray; sisters, Josephine Avery, Earnestine Handy and Easter Odom, all of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren.
His services will be Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Mount Bayou Baptist Church in Altheimer by Rev. Lafayette Woods at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove section of Graceland.
Visitation is today from 6-7:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 3411 W. 12th Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark.
Hazel Wickett
Hazel Louise Wickett, 57, of Pine Bluff died Oct. 24 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1950, at Pine Bluff, a daughter of Mozell Wickett Jr. of Evanston, Ill., and Vivian Dunbar of Pine Bluff.
Survivors: daughter, Lakeba Wickett of Pine Bluff; brothers, Donnell Wickett of Pine Bluff and Alvin Wickett of Chicago; sister, Marilyn Buckner of Chicago; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Henson Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Don Zell Jones officiating. Burial: Henson Memorial Garden.
Visitation: 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at 1501 W. 29th Ave.
Brenetta Thrower
BEARDEN — Brenetta Thrower, 52, of Bearden died Oct. 23.
She was a daughter of Verelene Brown of Bearden.
Other survivors include two daughters, Layonda Nicole Thrower of Oklahoma City and Martika Shanice Thrower of Bearden; four brothers, Cedric Thrower and Rudell Thrower, both of Bearden, Kenneth Thrower and Bundra Thrower, both of Camden; one sister, Jeanetta Rogers of Bearden; stepfather, Lawrence Brown; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church at Bearden. Arrangements are by Marks Funeral Home at Fordyce.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Willene Fitzpatrick
DEWITT — Willene Moore Fitzpatrick, 66, of DeWitt died Oct. 23 at Delta Memorial Hospital at Dumas.
She was born Jan. 27, 1942, at St. Charles, a daughter of the late Willie T. Moore and Mae Bell Horner.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Louis Fitzpatrick; two sons, Jeff Fitzpatrick and Jason Fitzpatrick; and one daughter, Jackye Jacobs.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the Greater St. John Church at DeWitt. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at St. Charles by McKinzie/Wilson Funeral Home of Gould.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the church.
Samuel Harris Sr.
EUDORA — Samuel Harris Sr., 48, of Eudora died Oct. 23 at Chicot County Hospital at Lake Village.
He was born Oct. 7, 1960, at Eudora, a son of the late Earl Harris and Francenna Jones.
Survivors include one son, Samuel Harris Jr.; six brothers, Earl Harris Jr., Enoch Harris, Franklin Harris, Jimmy Harris, Tommy Harris and Kenneth Harris; six sisters, Betty Lowe, Rosie Calhoun, Ruthy Harris, Josilyn Harris, Dorothy Harris and Samella Lanier; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Minister’s Institute at Eudora with the Rev. Michael Owens officiating. Burial: Hill Cemetery at Eudora by Dillard Funeral Home at Eudora.
Luther Warner
FORDYCE — Luther T. Warner, 80, of Fordyce died Saturday.
Survivors: six sons, Rev. Silas Warner, John Warner, Leon Warner, Rev. Calvin Warner, Raymond Warner, Rev. Royce Warner; 10 daughters, Dorsey Fields, Pearline Edwards, Versa Blackmon, Alice Weathers, Christine Brock, Genece Hardaway, Dorothy Sledge, all of Fordyce, Kathryn Butler, Hot Springs, Mary Bell, Arkadelphia, Bessie Cooper of Warren; siblings, Clifton Warner, Alvin Warner, Addie Childs, Wilma Warner of Fordyce, Gladys Beshears of Palmdale, Calif.; 42 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.

Margaret Vaughns
LITTLE ROCK — Margaret Vaughns, 77, of Little Rock died Sunday at her home.
She was born June 5, 1931, at Dumas, a daughter of the late James and Bertola Whitten.
Survivors include her husband, Ray A. Vaughns Sr.; one son, Ray Vaughns Jr.; and four daughters, Regena Bryant, Anner Douglas, Pamela Walker and Cecelia Fleming.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial: Roselawn Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home at Pine Bluff.
Visitation: 6-7 p.m. today at Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ.
The body will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
Adolphus Daniels
MONTICELLO — Adolphus Daniels, age 62, of Monticello, passed away Monday at JRMC.
He was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Crossett, to the late Nathaniel and Larnie Harden Daniels.
He was employed with Browne Calhoun Store until his health failed, was a faithful and dedicated member of Pilgrim Rest AME Church and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Dorothy Bell Daniels of Monticello; eight sisters, Dorothy Daniels, Dollie, Cynthia Daniel, LaTonya Gilbert and LaWanda Daniel, all of Chicago, Darnell Russ of Indianapolis, Ind., Gladys Carr of Calumet Park, Ill., and LaJune Newman of Richton Park, Ill.; two brothers, James Ingram of Hot Springs and LaSandra of Chicago, Ill.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest AME Church with burial in Oakland Cemetery.

Marie Briant
RISON — Marie Ruth Briant, age 77, of the Rowell Community near Rison, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Cleveland County, a daughter of Mollie Una Brown Simms and the late Morgan Simms.
Mrs. Briant was a seamstress for Brown Manufacturing before her retirement and was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Morgan Simms; and one brother, Gerald Simms.
Mrs. Briant is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Briant of Rowell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Nora Briant of Monticello, Kenneth and Tammy Briant of Wolfe City, Texas; mother, Mollie Simms Shelby of Rison; two sisters, Juanita Terry of Pansy, Faye Bradley of Woodlawn; three grandchildren, Morgan Briant, Douglas Briant and Stephen Briant.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Center Missionary Baptist Church at Rowell with Brother Doney Blackerby and Brother Andy Connard officiating. Burial will follow in Rowell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 31, 2008, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
Pallbearers are Morgan Briant, Douglas Briant, Stephen Briant, Jimmy Bradley, Dennis Bradley and Brady Terry.

Larnie Thomas Jr.
RISON — Bro. Larnie (LB, Tex) Thomas Jr. of Rison died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
Larnie was born Sept. 13, 1931, to the late Larnie B. Thomas Sr. and the late Victoria Johnson Thomas in Rison, Ark.
He received his education from Lanwood High School. After finishing high school, he moved to Gary, Ind., and spent four years in the United States Air Force. He later went back to work at United States Steel Mill in Gary, Ind., where he retired after 30 years. He then moved back to Rison, where he joined Dorothy Jean Segrest-Thomas in marriage.
LB was preceded in death by his parents, Larnie and Victoria Thomas; and Bro. Henry Lee Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy Jean Thomas; daughter, Debrisha “Dee” Thomas of Little Rock, Ark.; son, Bryant (Katherine) Bell and granddaughter, Bernisha “Nikki” Ridgle of Bryant, Ark.; one niece, Lisa (Michael) Dunham; one great niece, Noelle Lee Dunham of Swartz Creek, Mich.; a devoted cousin, Ozella Lee of Rison, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Carol (Celestin) Namouna of Forrest City, Ark.; one brother-in-law, Rev. Kenneth Wayne (Estelle) Segrest of Gary, Ind.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel Crain officiating. Burial will be at the New Cemetery at Rison, Ark. Services by the P.K. Miller Mortuary.
The repast will be at Union Hill Fellowship Hall.
Visitation is today from 5 until 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
Ila Bostian
STAR CITY — Ila Mae Harrison Bostian, 83, of Star City died Wednesday at Gardner Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late John Walter and Ida Mae Harrison.
She was a retired factory worker who worked at Byrd Manufacturing, Levi’s and School Apparel. She was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Joe William Bostian; three brothers, Kenneth Harrison, Dwight Harrison, J.W. Harrison; and an infant sister.
Survivors include one son, Mike Bostian of Star City; one daughter, Wanda Poteet of Star City; two brothers, Rendel Harrison of Pine Bluff, Johnny Harrison of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Patricia Daugherty of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Star City. Bro. Wayne Sewell and Bro. J.C. Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Burton, Shane Bostian, Ryan Bostian, Brady Bostian, David Poteet, Hunter Poteet, Jonathon White and Jeffery White.

DALLAS — Funeral services for Elgin Roberts, 18, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Pine Bluff, who died Oct. 27, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. R.L. Tisdale officiating.
He was born Aug. 25, 1990, son of the late Elga Roberts and Annette Smith of Dallas, Texas.
He attended school in Desoto, Texas, graduated in May 2008.
Survivors: his mother, Annette Smith, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Corey Bell, Little Rock, Fenel Davis, Pine Bluff; four sisters, Jennifer Smith, Oklahoma, Krystal Smith, Louisiana, Kitara Roberts, Dallas, Tajuana Roberts, Pine Bluff; grandmothers, Shirley Isabell, Mary Roberts, both Pine Bluff; grandfather, Curtis Smith, Pine Bluff; best friend, Jarvis Price, Pine Bluff.
