Larry Stanfield
Larry Richard Stanfield, age 61, of Pine Bluff, Ark. died Friday at MD Anderson at Houston.
He was born Nov. 19, 1946 at Warren a son of the late Ira Richard Stanfield and Kathern Morie Smith Stanfield. He was a graduate of the Hermitage Public School system, the University of Arkansas at Monticello and furthered his education at Auburn University and New Mexico Highlands University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education.
Mr. Stanfield was a retired teacher in the Pine Bluff School District with 38 years of service. He retired in June 2007. He was a member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church at Pine Bluff.
Surviving is his wife Jo Ellen Spencer Stanfield whom he married on July 18, 1970; a son. Brian Jason Stanfield and spouse Wendy of Batesville; a daughter, Kathryn Mays and spouse Tony of Fayetteville; a brother, Jerrel Stanfield of Warren; a sister, Elois Taylor of Warren; grandchildren, Garrett Stanfield, Amber Stanfield, Nathan Stanfield, Collin Mays and Peyton Mays.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial: Outlaw Cemetery at Sumpter by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Frazer’s. Online obituary/guestbook at www.frazerfuneralhome.com.
Eunice Towery
Eunice Alta Brewer Towery, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Daughter of the late Luther and Myrtle Jane Davis Brewer, she was born February 5, 1922 in Redfield, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers.
Survivors: brother, Stansel Brewer, of Doraville, Georgia; sister, Mary Arcement, of Pine Bluff; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Reverend James Watson officiating.
Wanda Hacker
BURDETTE—Wanda Jo Hacker, 66, Burdette, Ark., passed away Oct. 31. She was a homemaker and a Baptist, born Dec. 28, 1941.
Survivors: husband, Earnest Hacker of Burdette; sons, Darrell Hacker of Burdette and Boyce Hacker of Pioneer, La.; daughters, Lore Byrd of Poplar Grove, Brenda Cessor of Broken Arrow, Okla., Anna Poole of Green Castle, Penn., Mary Hacker of Benton, Tammy Bolyer of Russellville and Anglia Hacker of Eufaula, Okla.; three brothers, three sisters, 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.

Lionel Green, Sr.
LAKE VILLAGE—Lionel Green, Sr., 56, of Lake Village died Oct. 25 at St. Vincent Infirmary at Little Rock.
He was born April 3, 1952 to Bennie and Carrie Mae Green at Eudora.
Survivors: sisters, Barbara Green of Pine Bluff, Shay Green of Pine Bluff, Ethel Green-Bell of Cleveland and Coretta Green of Lake Village; brothers, Lee Wayne Green of Lake Village and Bennie Ray Green, Jr. of Pine Bluff; daughters, Cassandra Green of Eudora, Shondrika Green of Little Rock and Winnie Danielle Green of Pine Bluff; sons, Lionel Green, Jr. of Little Rock and Rodney Lewis of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Ministries Institute of Eudora. Burial: Hill Cemetery, Rev. Glen McJoy officiating. Arrangements by Henson Mortuary of Pine Bluff.
James Brewer
SHERIDAN — James E. “Bud” Brewer of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 16, 1936, in Grant County, the son of the late Girven and Lois Lybrand Brewer. In 1975, Bud retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, in which time he received numerous awards. In 1975, he then went to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked for 22 years until his retirement in 1997. He was a member, and twice, past President of the Grant County Cattleman’s Association and was formerly a member, and past President of the “Swinging Jackets” square dancing group for a number of years. Bud and his wife Nancy raised horses and cattle and were chosen as Grant County Farm Family of the Year in 1980.
Mr. Brewer died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 72. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Allen Brewer; sisters and brothers, Geraldine May, Mavine Gray, H.E. “Pete” Brewer and William E. “Crook” Brewer.
Survivors include his wife Nancy R. Brewer of Sheridan, who he married June 9, 1957; daughters, Sheila and husband Rick Gesing of Round Rock, Texas, and Pamela (Curtiss) Brewer of Sheridan; brother, Joe Brewer and wife Kathleen of Sheridan; sisters, Prissy Haralson and Vernell Bradbury, both of Sheridan; 7 grandchildren, Lexie McPherson, Alicia Gesing, Kate Gesing, Leah Plunkett, Kelsey Williams, Dustin Williams and Megan Williams. He is also survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bud had a strong faith and belief in God. He often commented on how he could see the hand of God in so many ways on his farm. From the birth of a calf to the harvest of a crop, he knew it was all God’s creation.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Michael Walton, Bro. John Williams, and Bro. Danny Hill officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Sheridan. Visitation: Monday, 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Grant County Museum, 521 Shackleford Road, Sheridan, Arkansas 72150.
