LATE RESULTS LEAVE TWO REGIONAL ELECTIONS IN RUN-OFFS

DEWITT — Aldermen races for eight contested Arkansas County seats were decided late Tuesday night and two run-off elections will be held in the county Nov. 25, according to unofficial results.

Votes cast in the Gillette Alderman, Ward 3, Position 1 race were spilt almost evenly.

Derek Menard led with 102 votes followed by Ronald William “Ronny” Smith, 99 votes, and Daniel Scott Griffie who received 97 votes. Menard and Smith will appear on the Nov. 25 run-off ballot.

Robert “Bob” M. Coch with 611 votes and John Conrad with 564 votes, will appear on the run-off ballot in Stuttgart for the city’s Alderman, Ward 3, Position 1 race. Candidate Charles W. Hula Jr. received 138 votes.

Complete but unofficial results show the following alderman races were decided Tuesday night:

Gillette

Ward 1, Position 1

Jerry Connelly — 179 votes

Susan Williams — 116 votes

Ward 1, Position 2

Walter Raymond Sullivan — 196 votes

Geneva White — 104 votes

Ward 2, Position 1

Sally Keffer — 177 votes

Charles “Chuck” Coffelt — 123 votes

St. Charles

Ward 4

Kevin R. Poston — 71

Walter Crosson — 18 votes

Michelle E. Martin — 19 votes

DeWitt

Ward 1, Position 1

Henrine Joiner — 353 votes

Ian J. Clark — 600 votes

Ward 2, Position 1

Andrew Bagley — 480 votes

James Vernor — 495 votes

Stuttgart

Ward 1, Position 1

Theodore Holt — 293 votes

Wade D. Hobbs — 571

Ward 1, Position 2

Virginia Holt — 397 votes

Johnny Warn, Sr. — 422 votes

James E. “Bubby” Shelton won the county’s Keaton Township Constable race with 187 votes. His opponent, Roger Kirkemier received 167 votes.

The combined Jefferson County and Arkansas County totals for Humphrey Recorder/Treasurer showed Robert “Robby” Blessing, Jr. received 129 votes and his opponent Jalicia D. Wyatt had 113 votes.

Tiffany Rogers, State Rep., Dist. 14 candidate, received 5,446 votes to write-in candidate Harvey Edwards’ 46 votes.
