A Pine Bluff teenager who reportedly stabbed a woman after an altercation Tuesday night was ordered by a judge to have no contact with the victim as a condition of her bond.

Circuit Judge Berlin Jones also set a $5,000 bond for Terunesha Elerby, 19, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Elerby with second-degree battery.

Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said police were sent to 2601 S. Laurel St., in response to an armed disturbance, and when they arrived, were told that Elerby and Patricia Shaw had gotten into a fight inside an apartment, and Elerby had cut Shaw in the face with a broken bottle.

Pugh said police reported that Elerby had blood on her shirt, a cut to the forehead, and they were unable to interview her because she was belligerent.

A witness told officers Shaw put Elerby out of the apartment, and once outside, Elerby began breaking the windows of the apartment, Pugh said. When Shaw went outside, the witness said the two women began to fight and Shaw was cut.

Police reported Shaw received a large cut to the side of the face, starting at the forehead and running down toward the eye, and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Pugh said police later interviewed Elerby, who said she had gone to the apartment to play cards and gotten drunk, and also claimed that after Shaw cut her with a piece of glass, she picked up a piece of glass and cut Shaw.

Also Monday, the judge set a $5,000 bond for Michael McLemore after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge McLemore with aggravated assault on a family or household member, and terroristic threatening.

Pugh said McLemore was arrested after police were sent to a reported domestic disturbance Monday, and found McLemore and his mother in the front yard of the house, and the mother holding a baseball bat.

The mother, Mildred McLemore, told police she was in the process of putting her son out of the house because he had stolen money from her and he poured kerosene on her and her vehicle, and “threatened to burn the house down with her in it.”

Pugh said McLemore’s mother told police she grabbed the bat to protect herself because McLemore had been violent toward her in the past, and said officers found a cigarette lighter when they searched McLemore. Additionally, police reported no sign of physical injury to either McLemore or his mother.

Besides setting the bond, the judge ordered McLemore to have no contact with his mother until the case is settled.
