Willie Williams
CAMDEN — Willie L. Williams, 76, of Camden died Tuesday.
Born Dec. 20, 1931, in Buena Vista, he was son of Ernest Williams Sr. and Dollie Wilson Williams.
Survivors: Brothers, Gaston Williams of Pine Bluff; Alexander Williams of Pasadena, Calif.; George Williams, James Williams and Curtis Williams all of Kansas City, Mo.; sister Norma J. Buford of Kansas City Mo.; sons, Michael Williams and Derwin Williams of California.
Funeral: Nov. 17, 10 a.m. at Henson Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Don Zell Jones officiating.
Visitation: Today from 6-7 p.m. at mortuary. Burial in Good Hope Cemetery.
Jo Curry
DUMAS — Jo Ann Erwin Curry, Garrett Bridge Community, died Nov. 14, 2008. Born March 18, 1938, to the late Curtis and Eura Erwin.
Mrs. Curry, homemaker, member of Anderson Chapel Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Jo Ann was preceased in death earlier this year by her husband John Edd Curry.
Survivors are sons, Eddie (Donna) Curry, Monticello, and Steve (Tonya) Curry, Garret Bridge; three grandsons, Brad, Chase and Jake Curry.
Visitation 5-7 p.m., Nov. 16, Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Services 2 p.m. Nov. 17, Anderson Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Tiner and Rev. Tommy Lanthrop officiating followed by interment in Tyro cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anderson Chapel Baptist Church. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Ark.
Edward Douglas
EUDORA — Edward Euel Douglas, 85, of Eudora died Friday at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village.
He was born Oct. 13, 1923, to the late Edward Albert Douglas and Minnie Mae Sellers Douglas.
Survivors: Sister, Jewel May of Eudora.
No funeral services. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service of Eudora.
Judy Hutchison
MCGEHEE — Judy Ann Hutchison, 63, of McGehee passed away Friday, Nov. 14 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Ark.
Mrs. Hutchison was born April 14, 1945, in Reno Nev. to Ludie Knoblock and the late Marvin M. Terry.
Mrs. Hutchison was retired from First National Bank in McGehee, a former long time member of the Bellaire Baptist Church and a current member of Temple Baptist Church in Dermott, Ark.
Mrs. Hutchison is survived by her husband, Anthony “Hutch” Hutchison of McGehee; mother, Ludie Knoblock Terry of Lake Village, Ark.; two sons, Brady Hutchison and wife Amy of Germantown, Tenn. and Michael Hutchison of Gould, Ark; two daughters, Jennifer Hood Moreland and her husband Brannon of Fayettville, Ark., and Brandy Roe and husband, David of Redfield, Ark., two brothers, Dewayne Terry and wife Barbara of McGehee, Ark., and Gary Terry and wife Mary of Benton, Ark.; one sister, Wanda Grassi of Branson, Mo.; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Mrs. Hutchison will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at the Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee with Brother Ronnie Garrett officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 16, at the funeral from 2-5 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 3-4 p.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, Eddie Privett, Lance Verner, Chris Cingolani, Larry Hutchison Jr., and Ricky Dunnahoe. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hutchison Sr., Charles Wayne Moreland, Richard Verner and Pat Deaton.
Burial will be in Dermott Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee. Memorials are requested to be made to the Lupus Foundation of America (2000 L. St., N.W. Suite #710, Washington D.C., 20036).
Jimmy Duvall
WARREN — Jimmy Duvall, 62, of Warren died Friday at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital, Little Rock.
Born Jan. 7, 1946, in Warren, son of the late Earnest Duvall and Eula Elizabeth Hines Duvall.
Survivors: wife, Ann Clay Duvall, Warren; son Clay Duvall, Warren; sister, Raye Dean Groves, Warren; two grandchildren.
Graveside services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Parker Prospect Cemetery near Warren, by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Marie Rice
WARREN — Marie Nichols Rice, 95, of Warren, died Friday at Bradley County Medical Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1913, in Cleveland County to the late Burdett Nichols and Ida Hayes Nichols.
Survivors: two sons, Lavern Rice and Leonard Rice of Warren; two daughters, Patsy Rice Smith and Dr. Peggy Marie Rice Doss; two brothers, Albert Nichols of Rye and Rovert Nichols of Fordyce, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Frazer’s Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. John Kidwell officiating.
Burial in Union Cemetery in Rye by Frazer’s. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Frazers.
Katherine Barger
MONTGOMERY, Texas —Katherine Echols Barger died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at the age of 92.
She was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Monticello, Ark. She married Lyman Tilden Barger, a Methodist Minister, while at Dyess Colony, Ark. in 1938. Her husband's career included pastorates in northeast Arkansas and over twenty years in the military, most of them as an Air Force Chaplain. After her husband's untimely death from cancer in 1966, Katherine, who was living in Monticello, moved in 1974 to the Little Rock area to pursue training as a nurses' aide. She spent the next several years employed at Arkansas's Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was living in Little Rock when a stroke in 2000 necessitated her move to Texas.
Surviving are six children and their spouses, Lyman Echols Barger of Panama City, Fla.; Sue Katherine (Sam) Barger of Little Rock, Ark.; Jan Barer Cohen and husband Kevin of Plumpton, England; Tilden Barger and wife Stephanie of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Tim Barger of Minneapolis, Minn.; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters and their families.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. All arrangements are by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
Bobby Fletcher
TYLER, Texas — Bobby Fletcher, 70, of Gilmer, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday at Longview Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1938, in Silvers Bend to the late Aubrey and Pearl Wooten Fletcher.
Survivors: wife, Marietta Cagle Fletcher of Gilmer; brothers, A.J. Fletcher of Buna, Earl Dean Moore of Henrietta; sister, Della Treadway of Buna.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Wallace officiating.
Burial: Starrville Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit.
