Vivian Oliver
Vivian Elizabeth Oliver, 89, of Pine Bluff, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas.
She was born Jan. 8, 1919, in Pine Bluff, daughter of Joe and Elizabeth Galster Wassell.
Mrs. Oliver was a charter and lifelong member of Second Baptist Church in Pine Bluff and a homemaker.
She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. She was an artist without boundaries. Her talents included woodcarving birds, painting, and crocheting. Most of all she loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Franklin Oliver Sr., whom she married in Jan. of 1941; her parents; and brother, Billy Wassell.
Survivors include her son, Phil Oliver and wife, Sunny of Arlington, Texas; two grandsons, Philip H. Oliver and Kelly Davis and wife, Kathy of Texas; two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Wassell of North Little Rock; special cousin, Dollye Shoemaker of Pine Bluff; and special friends, Bobby and Sharon Wyatt of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son in Pine Bluff with Rev. Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Marjorie Clark
Mrs. Marjorie Etta Clark, 63, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late William and Orangetta Castleman.
Her survivors include husband, Elder Artis P. Clark of Pine Bluff; son, Paul Clark of Memphis; daughters, Paula Copeland of White Hall, Latonia George of Bentonville and Satyra Carpenter of Elizabethtown, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her services will be Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at First Trinity COGIC by Elder Dewitt Hill at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 3200 Allister Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark.
Larry Sipes
ARKADELPHIA — Larry Don Sipes, 55, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Warren, died Thursday at Arkadelphia.
He was born Sept. 1, 1953, at Lewisville, a son of the late Willie Sipes and Mavene McDougald Sipes.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Robinson of Old Hickory, Tenn.; one sister, Chanda Henry of Rison; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Dye
MONTICELLO — James Russell Dye, 75, of Monticello passed away Thursday at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Baxter, Ark.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and a Baptist.
He was the son of the late Loren Julian Dye and Lela Janie McCarver Dye.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Woods Dye of Monticello; two sons, David Dye of Grady and Ronny Dye of Monticello; one daughter, Linda Quinlan of St. Roberts, Mo.; one sister, Vera Rial of Hamburg; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial in Pinewood Memorial Cemetery near Crossett with full military honors.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
