3 ARRESTED INSIDE BUSINESS TUESDAY NIGHT

Two Pine Bluff men and a juvenile were arrested Tuesday night after police found them hiding on top of a water pipe in a business on South Blake Street that had been burglarized.

At a court hearing Wednesday, Circuit Judge Berlin Jones ruled prosecutors had probable cause to charge the two men, Cordero Rogers, 20, and Carl Thompson, 18, with commercial burglary and set bond for the two at $2,500 each.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Michael Roberts, Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning said police responded to a reported burglary in progress at U-Pay-Less Rental at 2021 S. Blake St., at 9:50 p.m., and when they arrived, found a hole in the back of the building.

“They saw a male sticking his head out the back door and when he saw the officers, the male ran back inside the building,” Manning said. “Officers secured the perimeter and when they went in the building, found three people of top of a water pipe in the warehouse.”

She said police determined that one of the three was a juvenile.

“They interviewed all three people, including the juvenile with his mother present,” Manning said. “The juvenile said he had gone in the business to help Rogers get a television and Thompson said he had gone in the business to help Rogers get a television.

“Rogers said he went in the store because the other two were stealing and he was going to try and talk them out of it,” she said.

Also Wednesday, the judge set a $5,000 bond for Anthony Mosby, 52, of Pine Bluff, after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Mosby with first-degree sexual assault.

Manning said Mosby was identified as the person who reportedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl on at least two separate occasions. Besides setting the bond, the judge ordered Mosby to have no contact with the girl until the case is settled.
