Earnestine Armour

Earnestine Armour, 60, of Pine Bluff died Sunday. She was born in Sherrill, Ark. to the late E.B. and Hallie Armour on March 3, 1948.

Survivors include; three sons Dennis, Myron and Timothy Johnson all of Pine Bluff; five brothers; Freddie, Alvin Sr., E.B. Jr., Sterling Sr. and Columbus Scott all of Pine Bluff; one sister, Irene Scott of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at First Trinity Church of God in Christ. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Forrest Lawn by Christian Way Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, November 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rosie Gaynor

Rosie Lee Liggins Gaynor, 66, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away at JRMC Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years, Samuel Gaynor Sr.; eight children, Connie Bennett (Fred), Dennis Gaynor, and Eric Gaynor (Lakesha), all of Pine Bluff, Ark., Samuel Gaynor Jr. (Cathy) of Mansfield, Ga., Craig Gaynor (Benita) of Little Rock, Ark., Kevin Gaynor (Mary) and Antonio Gaynor, both of Fort Smith, Ark., Aundra Gaynor (Maria) of Conway, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, four brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services in her honor are tomorrow, Saturday Nov. 29, 2008, 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ, 912 Catalpa St., Pine Bluff, Ark.

A visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Betty Jackson

Mrs. Betty Jean Jackson, 54, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, Nov. 21. She was born in Pine Bluff to John Smith, Sr. of Pine Bluff and the late Mildred Smith.

Her survivors include, sons, Maurice Jackson, Jarshem Smith and Christopher Kitchens; brothers, John Smith, Jr., all of Pine Bluff and Bennie Smith of Vancouver, Wash.; sisters, Catherine Sanders and Inez Smith of Pine Bluff.

Her services will be Saturday, Nov. 20 at Full Faith Christian Ministries Church y Rev. Isaac Barron at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The family will be at 5505 Hoover Street, Pine Bluff.

Lynn Ross

Funeral services for Lynn McMurray Ross of Pine Bluff, who died Nov. 21 at his home, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Motley Chapel MBC, Rev. Lafayette Woods, Sr. officiating.

He was born Dec. 26, 1959, son of the late Willis McMurray and Willie L. Ross. He was reared by the late Bennie and Beatrice McMurray Shelton.

Lynn’s greatest pleasure was watching people. Lynn would spend countless hours visiting local convenience stores and service stations watching people as they went about their daily routines.

Survivors: six brothers, John L. Perry of Milwaukee, Wis., Bennie L. Shelton, Alvin L. Shelton, Willie J. Ross, John McMurray, George McMurray, all of Pine Bluff; nine sisters, Bobbie Dorrough, Dorothy Gonder, Lola Hunter, Ruby Shelton, Bobbie Jean McMurray, Sherry McMurray, Sarah McMurray, Linda F. Ross, Bobbie Ross, all of Pine Bluff.

Visitations may be made Friday 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Solomon Hill Cemetery by Perry Funeral Home.

The family will be at 2424 W 25th Street.

Nora Terry

Nora Graham Terry, 43, of Pine Bluff, formerly of Elaine, died Nov. 19.

She was a daughter of Alvin Graham of West Memphis and Mary Drone of Pine Bluff.

Other survivors: one son, Omar Terry; one daughter, Krystal Bohannon; six brothers, Joe Gardner, Calvin Graham, Charles Drone, Harry Drone, Roy Drone and Tyrone Drone; and seven sisters, Verlinda Harris, Tina Taylor, Schorlett Turner, Tamicia Miller, Linda Townsend, Rhae Johnson and Daniella Drone.

Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Joy Community Church. Burial: Forest Lawn Memorial Garden by Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home at West Memphis.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Edythe Thompson

Edythe Sipes Thompson, 81, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Davis Life Care Center in Pine Bluff.

Born June 14, 1927, in the Rowell Community, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Mattie Spakes Sipes. She was reared and received her early education in the Rowell and Woodlawn Communities, graduating from Woodlawn High School. She also attended Pines Vo-Tech, now Southeast Arkansas College, where she received her degree in Nursing.

Mrs. Thompson was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for the Veterans Hospital in Shreveport, La., for several years. After returning to Southeast Arkansas, she became a home health nurse for Lincoln and Cleveland Counties.

She was a member of the Assemblies of God Faith. While living at Garden Pointe and Davis Life Care, she enjoyed attending worship services there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her daughters Theressa Weeks, of Pine Bluff and Debbie Weeks Sellers, of Sanford, North Carolina; one sister Shirley Kinard, of Altoona, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren Tasha Helms, of Caswell Beach, North Carolina, Michelle French and Melissa Fulcher both of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Joshua Sellers, of Oak Island, North Carolina; and four great grandchildren, Katy Fulcher, Benjamin and Callie French and Haliegh Sellers.

The family of Mrs. Thompson would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. John Dedman and his staff, the nursing staff and employees of Garden Pointe Retirement Center and Davis Life Care Center, for the wonderful care and kindness they gave to Mrs. Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008, at Robinson's. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Rowell Cemetery with Reverend Nathan Bolden officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Gloria Johnson

HUMPHREY — Mrs. Gloria Denise McNealey Johnson, 37, of Humphrey, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008. She was born in Little Rock to Lucille McNealey of Humphrey and the late Troy C. McCollum.

Her survivors include; sons, Kevin and Kamren McNealey of Humphrey; daughter, Courtney McNealey of Stuttgart; brothers, Troy McCollum, Jr. of Little Rock and James Jones of Humphrey; sisters, Erma McNeil of Humphrey, Melvin Bowie of Pine Bluff, Jacquelyn McNealey of Humphrey and Joyce Jones of Sikeston, Mo.; one grandchild.

Her services will be Saturday, Nov. 29 at Mt. Olive COGIC in Humphrey by Pastor James Henderson at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery in Humnoke. Visitation is Friday from 6-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The body will lie in state at the church from 9:15 a.m., until time of service.

The family will be at 100 North Division Street, Humphrey.

Jean Jones

RISON — Jean Jones, 76, of Rison, died Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 13, 1932 to the late Guy Jones and Millie Hollyway in Rison, Ark.

Survivors include; one son, Billy Berry of Milwaukee, Wis.; two sisters, Allenes Shields of Rison and Doris Galberth of Fordyce; and two grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at Tates Temple Church of God in Christ in Rison, Ark. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be New Cemetery in Rison, Ark. by Christian Way Funeral Home.

Linda Jackson

STAR CITY — Linda Denise Jackson, 57, of Star City, died Monday, Nov. 24. She was born in St. Louis to the late Jesse Neal and Ann Hall.

Survivors: husband, Elijah Jackson, Jr. and daughter, Erin Nicole Jackson, both of Star City.

Funeral service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at Full Counsel Christian Fellowship by Pastor Vincent Johnson. Burial: Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Varner.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home at Pine Bluff.

The family will be at 205 Alfred Lane, Star City.
