WANTED MAN ARRESTED AT WORK
A Pine Bluff man wanted on multiple charges was arrested Wednesday afternoon while he was at work at a restaurant in White Hall.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Capt. Bernard Adams said Kevin Earl McKinney, 27, was taken into custody at the Taco Bell in White Hall at about 1:30 p.m., after deputies received information as to his location.
“He had been bragging to people that there were warrants for his arrest but the sheriff’s office wasn’t doing anything and somebody made a phone call,” Adams said. “Deputies Vince Edwards and Dorothy Rowland walked in the store and when he saw them he just kind of hung his head and walked out to them.”
Adams said McKinney had been sought on a 2007 warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance, and a 2008 warrant charging him with first-degree battery in relation to a shooting incident on June 28.
In addition, an alias warrant with no bond had been issued for McKinney after he failed to appear in court, and he was also being sought for violating conditions of his parole.
Adams said McKinney is expected to appear in court Friday on the charges.
