The Poole’s were married in Wilmar Baptist Church on Dec. 27, 1908. Mrs. Poole is the former Miss Willie Elizabeth Moore. Among the recent graduates of the Pine Bluff Practical Nurses School, who recently passed their examinations and received licenses from the state board for licensure are: Mrs. Letha Bragg, Mrs. Carrie Brashears, Mrs. Josie Carter, Mrs. Ivor Crick, Mrs. Robbie Ferguson, Mrs. Hazen Lemens, Mrs. Vera Lybrand, Mrs. Ruth Moran, Mrs. Ruth Terry and Mrs. Jessie Tipton, all of Pine Bluff. 25 Years Ago January 8, 1984 LOS ANGELES — In a few years, a drug used to treat former Senator Jacob Javits for Lou Gehrig’s disease may be widely available to reduce the symptoms of the fatal nerve disorder. It is “entirely possible” that the experimental drug, thyrotropin-releasing hormone, or TRH, could be available within three years for the estimated 15,000 to 30,000 Americans with the disease, said Dr. W. King Engel, a University of Southern California neurologist. |
