NEW YORK — Adolf Hitler’s nephew, William Patrick Hitler, 32, who was rejected for Army service in 1942, may be serving in the United States Navy soon, Selective Service headquarters here reported today.
Hitler, a British subject, came to this country in 1939 to lecture on Germany and registered for the draft at Long Island City.
His mother was separated from the dictator’s half-brother when William was 2 and thereafter made her home in England. His father operated a restaurant in Berlin.

Lennis Coleman, building manager, welcomed a crowd recently to the official dedication of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s new $8.5 million Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building, known as the HyPER Building.
The building was dedicated prior to last night’s UA-PB vs. Lemoyne-Owen College basketball game.
The facility, which includes classrooms and activity areas in addition to the sports arena, has been in use for about a year and a half, but the Golden Lion’s basketball team just began using it last month because of a delay in funding for the bleachers, Coleman said.
Building plans were drawn up in 1975 and construction began in late 1980.
