Angel Brown
Angel Jewel Brown was born and died Feb. 4 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Curtis L. Brown Sr. and Markhitha Harris, both of Pine Bluff.
Other survivors: four brothers, Emmarrious McCree, Jamarcus Brown, Jamarion Brown and Curtis L. Brown Jr., all of Pine Bluff; three sisters, Keyarbree Harris and Diamon Brown, both of Pine Bluff, and Cashie Brown of Arlington, Texas; and grandparents, Diana J. White and Arlean Williams, both of Pine Bluff.
Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home.
Visitation: 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Alma Franklin
Mrs. Alma Ann Franklin, 52, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009.
She was born in Fountain Hill to Truth Conner of Pine Bluff and the late Willie Joe Franklin.
Her survivors include daughters, Beranna Lane of Philadelphia and Taranesha Franklin of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, Harvey and Dennis Franklin; sisters, Linda Parks, Pamela Franklin and Sheila Johnson, all of Pine Bluff, Stella Franklin of Detroit, Mich., and Betty Ford of Houston, Texas.
Her services will be Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff by Rev. John Ford at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
The family will be at 2404 W. High St., Pine Bluff, Ark.
Louise Huitt
LITTLE ROCK — Louise Huitt, 75, of Little Rock, died Tuesday at her home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Pulaski County, a daughter of the late Charles Archie McCumpsey and Katherine Elizabeth Forster McCumpsey.
Survivors: husband, Jerrell Ray Huitt; sons, Mike Huitt of Mablevale and Terry Huitt of Alexander; daughter, Brenda Huitt Zieglar of Granbury, Texas; brothers, William McCumpsey, Carl McCumpsey and Robert McCumpsey, all of Little Rock; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. Friday at Roller Drummond Funeral Home. Burial: Ironton Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home at Warren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at Roller Drummond Funeral Home.
Doyle Waller Jr.
SHERIDAN — Doyle Edwin Waller Jr., 66, of Sheridan died Monday.
Born Feb. 27, 1942, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Doyle Edwin Waller Sr. and Rose Lee Waller.
Survivors include his wife, Maryanna Hale Waller; children, Barry Waller, Kim Prior, Scarlet Bitzer, Kevin Goshien and Dana Isaac; brother, Donald J. Waller; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 4 p.m. Friday in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Pulaski County.
A procession will leave from Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services in Pine Bluff at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today.
Martha Rowland
STUTTGART — Martha Jean Snow Rowland, 73, of Stuttgart, passed away on Feb. 10, 2009, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart after a short, but valiant fight against cancer.
Jean was born in Magnet Cove, Ark., and was raised in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1953.
Jean was a retired secretary serving many years with Comet Rice, Riviana Foods and Producers Rice Mills in Stuttgart. “Mrs. Jean” was loved by many and lived an active life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and singing in the choir at Southside Baptist Church in Stuttgart. Memorable moments include camping trips to Bull Shoals and Lake Ouachita, summer trips to Lake Village with her family, preparing family meals, especially during the holidays, and the many special moments filled with laughter, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Duke of Hot Springs; and her parents, Ted E. and Ida Mae Snow of Pine Bluff.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Rowland, with whom she spent 55 “golden years”; a daughter, Pam Mancilla and her husband, Octavio of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Tracy Rowland and his wife, Penni of Weatherford, Texas; and one brother, Jimmy Snow and his friend, Neva of Wagoner, Okla. She was known as “Meem” to her three grandchildren, Chad Rowland and his wife, Melissa; Kyle Rowland and his fianc/, Amanda, all of Texas, and Leslie Vera and her husband Sebastian of Florida; and one great-grandchild, Jaycie Leeanne Rowland of Texas. She is also survived by her very dear personal friends for the past 30 years, Keith and Joyce Helm of Stuttgart.
The family would like to thank Bro. Gregg Greenway for his many prayers and visits, Dr. Jason Tullis, Dr. Natalie Gentry and Dr. Dennis Yelvington and their staffs, as well as the staffs of Hospice Home Care and Baptist Health-Little Rock and Stuttgart for their kindness and compassion during the past two months.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church, 402 E. 19th St. in Stuttgart.

Nelda Pennington
WHITE HALL — Nelda Rose Pennington, 65, of White Hall died Wednesday.
Survivors include one son, Ray Pennington of White Hall; one brother, Jack Childers of Jacksonville; and three grandchildren.
Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
Donnell Johnson, 54, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Sylvester Waddy, 42, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Theola Purnell Woodruff, 90, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday at Davis Life Care Center East. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
