John Gentry
Mr. John H. Gentry, 71, of Pine Bluff died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009.
He was born in Watson to the late Annie and Thomas Gentry Sr.
His survivors include wife, Vivian Gentry of Pine Bluff; sons, John Gentry of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Brian Gentry of Little Rock; daughter, Diane Gentry Martin of Memphis; brothers, Clinton Gentry of Saginaw, Mich., and Thomas Gentry Jr. of Shelby Township, Mich.; sisters, Annie Banks and Louise Grays of Saginaw, Mich., Travestine Butler of Blythe, Calif., and Clintontine Fitz of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
His services will be Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at St. John AME Church by Rev. James Hooper at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Porter Cemetery in Watson.
Visitation is today from 4:30-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:45 until time of service.
The family will be at 2808 Byron Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark.
Elmyria Reed
Elmyria Reed of Pine Bluff died Feb. 6 at Arkansas Convalescent Center.
She was born May 4, 1920, at Ladd, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell.
There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant View Ministry Church with the Rev. William Shaw Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at 2717 Regalia Drive.
Theola Woodruff
Theola Purnell Woodruff, 90, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Davis East.
Born Oct. 28, 1918, in Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of Mansel and Ann Short Purnell.
Mrs. Woodruff was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff.
She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School.
Theola Alice Purnell married Fred C. Woodruff in Pine Bluff in 1949. Mrs. Woodruff was a homemaker.
Mrs. Woodruff was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one son, Fred C. Woodruff Jr.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mansel and Becky Woodruff of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Jerry Ann Weaver of Springdale; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 13, 2009, in Graceland Cemetery with Rev. David Moseley officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son.
The family will receive guests at the home of Mansel and Becky Woodruff, 5804 Ramick Road, Pine Bluff.

Kayla Woods
Ms. Kayla Monique Woods, 14, of Pine Bluff died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009.
She was born in Pine Bluff to Kenny and Robin Woods of Pine Bluff.
She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, where she was a member of the band and choir. She was a student at Jack Robey Junior High School.
Her survivors include her parents; grandmothers, Willie Martin of Sherrill and Ethel Woods of Pine Bluff.
Her services will be Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at New Salem Baptist Church in Pastoria by Rev. Clark Thomas at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Elvin Smith, formerly New Salem Cemetery, in Pastoria.
Visitation will be today from 5:30-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 1403 Brentwood Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark.
Kendria Woods
Ms. Kendria Nicole Woods, 19, of Pine Bluff died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009.
She was born in Pine Bluff to Kenny and Robin Woods, both of Pine Bluff.
She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Pastoria, where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by grandmothers, Willie Martin of Sherrill and Ethel Woods of Pine Bluff.

Larry Williams
ASHDOWN — Larry Andover Williams, 56, of Ashdown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009.
He was born May 2, 1952, in Ashdown, a son of Mozell and Mary Williams.
He graduated from Wood Street High in Ashdown and furthered his education at AM&N College, now UAPB. He retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, Texarkana, Ark., and was a very active member and deacon of Haney Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, Mozell Williams, Jan. 24, 2000; his wife, Sharon Banks Williams, March 13, 2002, and nephew, Elliott Lewellen, July 18, 2008.
He is deeply missed by his loving mother, Mrs. Mary Williams of Ashdown; children, Tonya (To’Neal) Thurston, Chadwick, Natalie of Texarkana, Ark., Lanica, Konica and Justin of Ashdown; grandchildren, Cameron, Cole, La’Mantra, Ja Marcus and Larri; siblings, Prentice (Berthelmer) Williams of Texarkana, Texas, Onetha (Delton) Wright of Pine Bluff, Gwendolyn (Anthony) Abner, Merle (Bobby) Lewellen Burris, Mark Williams and Steve Williams of Ashdown; nephews, Andoval, Adrain, Ethan, Jacolby and Peyton; nieces, Angela, Kayla, Destyni, Alayna and Lauryn.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Haney Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Jesse Gilmore officiated. Interment: Rhodes Cemetery by Lyles Funeral Home, Texarkana, Ark.
Fred Correll Jr.
MONTICELLO — Fred Correll Jr., 71, of Monticello, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Binns and Denetta Johnson, both of Monticello; five sons, Terry Correll of Warren, Royce Correll of Pine Bluff, Gregory Correll of Monticello, Ivory Ollison of Atlanta, Ga., and Timothy Ollison of Little Rock; one brother, Robert Edward Correll of Illinois; one stepbrother, James Ambrose of Monticello; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman.
Visitation: 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Linda Jones
MONTICELLO — Linda Atkison Jones, 64, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Drew Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 13, 1944, in Mena, Ark.
She was a retired dental assistant, hair dresser, bank secretary and was a member of Christ Church in Monticello and was the daughter of the late U.L. Atkison and Thelma D. Smedley Atkison.
She ws a gifted pianist and enjoyed painting, crocheting and knitting.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Jones of Monticello; one son, Brent Stafford of Camden; one daughter, Shannon Hawkins of Woodstock, Va.; one sister, Betty Carter of Crossett; three grandchildren, Kohly Hawkins, Kessa Hawkins and Chloe Stafford.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christ Church in Monticello. She will be cremated. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the church.
Linda Robinson
MONTICELLO — Linda Sue Robinson, 50, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
She was born April 27, 1958, in Ouachita Parish, La.
She was a department manager at Wal-Mart and a member of Shady Grove AME Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Robinson of Monticello; seven sisters, Vina Cameron, Erma Mathis Davis and Wea Davis, all of Winnsboro, La., Joann Stevenson, Patricia Tanner, Lillie Alanaderia and Elnora McKinzie, all of Dumas; seven brothers, Rev. Marshall Thomas Sr. of Winnsboro, La., James Mathis of Brinkley, Glenn Jackson, Roy McKinzie, Michael McKinzie, Derrick McKinzie, Ronnie McKinzie, all of Dumas; stepchildren, Clyde Robinson, Denise Bell and Jermaine Green, all of Monticello, and Shyron Robinson of McGehee; one goddaughter, Chell Neal of Monticello; six stepgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved “Spanky.”
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel.
Burial in Shady Grove Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Princess McCoy
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Mrs. Princess Lee McCoy, 63, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009.
She was born in Pine Bluff to the late Willie McCoy and Elmon Cleveland.
Her survivors include son, William Sims of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brothers, Hayward, Deloyd, Tryzee Cleveland, all of Pine Bluff; sisters, Leola Ervin of Milwaukee, Wis., Erma McCoy, Versie Cleveland and Dannette Cleveland, all of Pine Bluff.
Her services will be Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Grace Temple Baptist Church by Rev. Amelio P. Howard at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove section of Graceland by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 607 Hudson, Pine Bluff, Ark.
George Hunt Sr., 69, of Pine Bluff died at home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Christian Way Funeral Home.
WHITE HALL — Caleb Johnson,22, of White Hall died Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services at Pine Bluff.
