Jeanette Bates
Jeanette Bates, 78, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born May 13, 1930, in Kedron, Ark., she was a daughter of Leonard R. and Birdie Ratcliff Taylor.
Mary Jeanette Taylor married Jack Bates Sr. in Pine Bluff on Nov. 4, 1950.
Mrs. Bates was a homemaker. She was a member of South Pinewood Baptist Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School class.
Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one brother, Robert Taylor.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack (Donnie) Bates Jr. and wife Betty of Pine Bluff, and Ronnie and Penny Bates of Glendale; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Elkins of White Hall; daughter, Mary Bates of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Arlene Orton of Stockton, Ill., and Doris Lawrence of Memphis; one brother, Franklin Taylor of Van Buren; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; loving caregiver, Dorothy Wrinkle of Pine Bluff.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 25, 2009, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother Dean Dancer officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Annex cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.

Juanita Bolton
HAMPTON — Juanita I. Bolton, 89, of Hampton died Monday at the Medical Center of South Arkansas at El Dorado.
She was born June 5, 1919, at Eagle Mill, a daughter of the late Ralph P. Wisecarver and Bertha Gilbert Wisecarver.
Survivors include one son, Carlton L. Murphy of Hampton; one daughter, Nancy Davis of El Dorado; and one brother, Troy Wisecarver of Hamburg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Faustina Baptist Church near Harrell. Burial will be in Faustina Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home at Warren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Freddie Harbison
LITTLE ROCK — Freddie Mae Harbison, 55, of Little Rock, formerly of Crossett, died Thursday.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Ross Sr.; one daughter, Racquita Ross-Jones; one brother, James Adams; four sisters, Martha Adams, Pauline Minneweather, Shirley Ford-Sims and Carliss Sanders; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday at Living Word Church of God in Christ at Crossett with Joe B. Mason officiating. Arrangements are by Richardson Memorial Funeral Home at Stuttgart.
The body will be at the church from 10 until 11:45 a.m. Thursday.
Bobby Thomas Jr.
LITTLE ROCK — Bobby Louis Thomas Jr., 50, of Little Rock died Sunday at Baptist Health at Little Rock.
He was born April 5, 1958, at Little Rock, a son of Leon and Shirley Washington, both of Little Rock.
Other survivors: daughters, Lasonya Thomas and Allyssa Thomas, both of Little Rock; and brothers, Larry Thomas and Garland Washington, both of Little Rock.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Greater Trinity Church of God in Christ at Little Rock. Burial: Arkansas Memorial Gardens at North Little Rock by Christian Way Funeral Home at Pine Bluff.
The body will be at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
Carl Green
MONTICELLO — Carl Lee Green, 73, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at Drew Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1935, in Drew County.
He was a logger and a member of Mount Olive AME Church.
He was the son of the late John A. Green and Atlee Lambert Green and was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Green and John H. Green.
Survivors include two brothers, Earnest Green of Lacey and Columbus Green of Monticello; three sisters, Eula Mae Daniels, Willie Dale Pete and Georgia Green, all of Monticello; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Divine Church in Lacey. Burial in Lacey Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman.
Ruie Garrison
VILONIA — Our mother, Ruie Burleson Garrison, went home to her Lord Feb. 22, 2009.
Born June 13, 1919, in Scott, Ark., she was the youngest daughter of James Walter and Sallie Tennessee Burleson.
She was married to our father, Joseph Paul Garrison for 64 years.
She is survived by her children, John Garrison (Kay) of Pine Bluff, Joe Garrison (Barbara), Randall Garrison (Mary), Ralph Garrison (Jan), all of Vilonia, Judy Glover (Bobby) of Maumelle; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Vilonia with Bro. John Hamby officiating. Burial will follow at Keo Cemetery.
Pallbearers are sons John, Joe, Randall and Ralph, son-in-law Bobby and grandson Jim.

Jeannie Branch
WATSON — Jeannie Branch, 92, of Watson died Feb. 17 at Drew Memorial Hospital at Monticello.
He was born June 25, 1916, at Blytheville, a son of the late Albert Branch and Maggie Olden.
He was a farmer and a World War II Army veteran.
There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee. Burial will be in Rolling Water Cemetery.
Cathy Anderson Bailey, 56, of Pine Bluff died Saturday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
David Eldon Breshears, 74, of Pine Bluff died Monday at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Facility at Little Rock. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
DUMAS — Catherine Williams, 86, of Dumas died Monday at Detroit. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Serenity Gardens Funeral Services at Dumas.
