Cathy Bailey
Mrs. Cathy Bailey, 56, of Pine Bluff died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009.
She was born in Ripley, Tenn., to William Roberson of Hammond, Ind., and Katie Wilson of Ripley, Tenn.
Her survivors include husband, Charles Bailey; daughter, Dierdre Bailey, both of Pine Bluff; brother, Joseph Wilson of Fort Washington, Md.; sisters, Brenda Wilson-Ingram and Dierdre Wilson, both of Nashville, Tenn., Stephanie Wilson-Reed of Jackson, Tenn., Vickie Wilson-Young of Merrillville, Ind., and Andrea Roberson-Woods of Hammond, Ind.; two grandchildren.
Her services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Brown Funeral Home by Elder Walter Jones at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The family will be at 1500 Bailey Drive, Pine Bluff, Ark.
Chester Fahn
Chester Fahn, 92, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 1, 1916, at Winchester, Ark., the son of the late Benjamin and Arretha Fahn.
Survivors include a son, Archester Fahn of Dumas; five daughters, Deloris Jackson, Kerma Jones, both of Dumas, and Corliss Poole of Pine Bluff; two stepdaughters, Mary Williams and Ruby Lee, both of Dumas; 46 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Trinity Church of God in Christ. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert Hill
Robert Earl Hill, 40, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday.
He was a son of Charles Hill and Cora Hill, both of McCrory.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jordan Hill of Pumpkin Bend; three brothers, Alfred Ray Hill of Nashville, Jim Hill and Jason Hill, both of McCrory, and Glen Hill of Newport; and three sisters, Debrae Roe of McCrory, Pamela McKee of Oklahoma City and Joyce Powell of Patterson.
Funeral services: 2 p.m. today at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home at McCrory.
Sandra Jordan
Sandra K. Jordan, 27, of Pine Bluff died Monday.
She was a daughter of Joyce Jordan of Sheridan.
Other survivors include one brother, Michael Henry of Osceola; and one sister, Christy Jordan of Pine Bluff.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Shady Grove Cemetery at Sheridan.
Vashtie Mays
Mrs. Vashtie Williams Mays, 95, of Pine Bluff died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009.
She was born in Ladd to the late Bennie and Pearlie Williams.
She is survived by daughter, Virgirean Owens of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Her services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at St. Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Louis E. Williams at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 4:30-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:15 a.m. until time of service.
The family will be at 2300 W. 41st Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark.
Fewel Singleton
DUMAS — Fewel Singleton, 94, of Dumas died Thursday.
She was born Dec. 27, 1914, at Gibbs.
Survivors include three sons, Therion “Nick” Singleton, Auther Ray Singleton and Gary Singleton; two daughters, Claudetta Ricketts and Janetta Berry; one sister, Winlie Hawkins; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Watson First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Leonard Ricketts officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Lake Cemetery by Griffin Funeral Home at Dumas.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Catherine Williams
DUMAS — Catherine Williams, 86, of Dumas died Monday at Detroit.
She was born March 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Ollie Hall and Julia Hall.
Survivors include five sons, Nathaniel Williams, Herman Williams, Sylvester Williams, Theodis Williams and Kenneth Williams; and one daughter, Jean Arnold.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas with the Rev. J.L. Morton officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery at Pickens by Serenity Gardens Funeral Services at Dumas.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday.
Charles Jones
RISON — Mr. Charles “Casey” Ulaches Jones, 78, of Rison died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009.
He was born in Rison to the late Candy Jones Sr. and Rachael Will.
His survivors include sons, Charles Jones of Grady and David Urquehart; daughters, Pernella Brandon and Marie Martin, all of Pine Bluff, Etta Hamilton and Hildra Urquehart, both of Rison; brothers, Candy Jones Jr. of Flint, Mich., Harllon Will of Malvern, Michael Will of Rison, Huellon Will of Rockford, Ill., and W.H. Will of Pueblo, Colo.; sisters, Rosie Vaughan and Mary Dismuke, both of Rockford, Ill., Mamie Woodman of Bloomdale Hills, Mich., and Linda McDaniel of Pine Bluff; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
His services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Kedron COGIC in Rison by Rev. Arthur Ray Sledge at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Rison.
Visitation is today from 6-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:15 until time of service.
The family will be at 302 Mockingbird Lane, Rison, Ark.
Frances Borkins
OKLAHOMA CITY — Mrs. Frances Hunt Borkins, 80, of Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009.
She was born in Tamo to the late Howard and Mary Hunt.
Her survivors include husband, Alvin Borkins of Grady; son, Antwon Borkins of Ardmore, Okla.; daughters, Mable Parks of Pine Bluff, Annie Duncan and Rose Borkins of Ardmore, Okla., Donna Borkins of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Barbara Taylor of Houston, Texas; brothers, Earnest Hunt of Little Rock and Lewis Hunt of Pine Bluff; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Linwood by Rev. David Marks at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Belmont Cemetery in Moscow.
Visitation is today from 6-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state at the church from 1:45 p.m. until time of service.
The family will be at 210 W. Biley Road, Grady, Ark.
Rihanna Robinson, 6 months, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday at home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Perry Funeral Home.
REDFIELD — Howell Burton Hicks, 81, of Redfield died Thursday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services of Pine Bluff.
MILWAUKEE — Vernon L. Eichelburger Sr., 60, of Milwaukee, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Perry Funeral Home at Pine Bluff.
