To increase the efficiency and lower the operating costs of the A.M. and N. school for blacks at its new site on the Free Bridge road in the suburbs of Pine Bluff, plans now are being worked out to have the Arkansas Natural Gas company lay a line to connect its main with the school, Harry I. Holderness announced today. Mr. Holderness is the member of the honorary board which has supervision over the school from the sixth congressional district.

“To the beginner no phase of the art of flower arrangement seems so complicated as color,” stated Mrs. Ben Pearson in the lesson talk yesterday of Spade and Trowel Garden club which met in the home of Mrs. Cliff Bumpass, 2119 Cherry.
Resumption of home delivery service here was announced today by the OK Ice Cream and Candy Company, one of Pine Bluff’s larger milk distributors.
House-to-house delivery will begin Monday, George Makris of the OK concern said. Deliveries will be made on an every-other-day basis, including Sundays.

LONDON — Queen Elizabeth II drove through the rain last night to call on the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, her uncle and the American-born woman for whom he gave up his throne. It was the first meeting of a member of the royal family with the former Wallis Warfield Simpson since Edward VIII abdicated in the 1936 to marry “the woman I love.”
