Henry Nichols

BANKS — Henry Clay Nichols, 77, of Banks died Sunday at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1931, at Banks, a son of the late Doyle Ray Nichols and Geraldine Nolan Nichols.

Survivors: wife, Ruby P. Nichols; son, Tommy Ray Nichols of Little Rock; daughters, Donna Delozier of Banks and Terri Lynn Haygood of Crossett; stepsons, Ralph Thomason Jr. and Pat Thomason, both of Warren; stepdaughter, Latresia Whitlock of Hampton; sister, Jacquelin Reddin of Alexandria, La.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services: 2 p.m. today in McFarland Cemetery at Banks. Arrangements are by Frazer’s Funeral Home at Warren.

Urney Sanders Jr.

CONWAY — Urney Alvis “Sandy” Sanders Jr., 81, of Conway died Sunday at his home.

He was born July 29, 1927, at Tinsman, a son of the late Urney Alvin Sanders Sr. and Lois Peterson Sanders Biggers.

Survivors: wife, Mildred Ann Baker Sanders; son, Boyed Alvis Sanders; daughter, Carol Ann Sanders Shockley; sisters, Jean Sanders Silliman, Patricia Biggers Curtis and Malissa Biggers Crow; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frazer’s Funeral Home at Warren with Edward Sanders officiating. Burial: Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Cathy Overton

LITTLE ROCK — Cathy V. Horton Webb Overton of Little Rock, Ark., was born Sept. 13, 1952, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the daughter of the late Verlon L. Horton Sr. and Bettye Graves Horton.

She was a member of First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan and a business administrator for Arkansas Pathology Associates.

Cathy died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at St. Vincent’s Infirmary Medical Center at the age of 56.

Survivors: sons, Neil and wife, Ashley Webb of Benton, Brandon Overton of Little Rock, Billy Ray “Buddy” Overton of Malvern; brothers, Buddy Horton of Sheridan, Keith Horton of Alabama; grandchildren, Gabriella Webb, Nicholas and Adam Overton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at First Landmark Baptist Church in Sheridan. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kathey Allen

PARIS — Kathey Jo Allen, 50, went to be with our Lord on March 24, 2009.

She was born Feb. 2, 1959. She was the daughter of Jerry and Martha Williams of Texarkana, Texas and Mary and Victor Scrivner of Pine Bluff, Ark.

She is preceded in death by her first spouse, Gary Owens in 1985 and her second spouse, Greg Bennett in 1995.

She was employed at CV’s Family Foods in Paris, Ark. She worked with the United Way and United Cerebral Palsy for years in Pine Bluff, Ark. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Paris, Ark. She enjoyed the beautiful scenery, flowers and collecting angels.

She is survived by her husband, John T. Allen, whom she married Feb. 1, 1999; two sons, Victor Ray Owens and Twyla of Atkins, Ark., Jerry Dale Owens of the home; one daughter, Chastidy Bennett Ford and Jared of Atkins, Ark.; three brothers, Victor (Peanut) Scrivner and Angie of Pine Bluff, Ark., Butch Whittington of Newport, Ark., and Brett Scrivner and Denise of Pine Bluff, Ark.; six sisters, Kim Williams of Fort Smith, Ark., Tonya Williams Malone and Bobby of Texarkana, Texas, Kono Whittington Kidd and Jerry of Beebe, Ark., Kathy Joyce Scriver and Kim of Springfield, Mo., Vicky Renee Scrivner and Ecky of North Little Rock, Ark., and Kelly Williams Morthew and Joe of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren, Emily Hope Owens of Magazine, Ark., Morgan Nicole Ford of Atkins, Ark., and Logan Cade Ford of Atkins, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service, Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, Ark., officiated by Rev. Kenny Maness and under the direction of Roller Funeral Home-Paris.

Robert Royal

SHERIDAN — Robert Franklin Royal, 50, of Sheridan died Sunday at his home.

He was born May 4, 1958, at Pine Bluff, a son of Verble Stanley Royal of Sheridan and the late Rita Jo Haddock Royal.

Other survivors include two brothers, Richard Royal of Fayetteville and Mike Royal of Sheridan; and two sisters, Brenda Ballew and Lillian Russell, both of North Little Rock.

Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope Cemetery at Sheridan. Arrangements are by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan.

Leo Edwards

STAR CITY — Mr. Leo Edwards, 43, of Star City died Wednesday, March 25, 2009.

He was born in Pine Bluff to the late Bertha and James Edwards Sr.

His survivors include wife, Annie Edwards of Star City; daughter, Monica Stockman of Flint, Mich.; brothers, Steven Edwards and James Edwards Jr.; sisters, Annette Gatewood, Patricia Carter, Dorothy Mabry and Darlene Buckhanan, all of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren.

His services will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lonzie Mays at 1 p.m. Interment will be in VA section of Graceland.

Visitation will be today from 6-7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The family will be at 501 Indiana St., Pine Bluff, Ark.

Mae Lue Holmes of Pine Bluff died Monday at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center at Little Rock. Funeral arrangements will be announced by P.K. Miller Mortuary.

Dorothy Williams, 77, of Pine Bluff died Friday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
