DEATHS FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29, 2009

Carol Balwanz

SHERIDAN — Carol Madeley Balwanz of Sheridan, Ark., was born Aug. 24, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of the late Arthur Claude Madeley Jr. and Eloise Jones Madeley.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church at Sheridan.

Carol was past president of Sheridan Chapter Y. P.E.O., past president of Beta Sigma Phi and served on the Grant County Library Board of Directors. She was also the attendance secretary for the Sheridan Freshman Academy.

Carol passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 57.

Survivors: husband, Rick Balwanz of Sheridan; daughters, Jessica and husband Brian Lasley of Little Rock, Morgan and husband, Derrick Wilson of Sheridan, Trudy and husband, David Sleater of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother, Art and wife Emily Madeley of San Marcos, Texas; sisters, Dianne and husband Walter M. LeNoir of Horatio, S.C., Betty and husband, Jack Needham of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Kathy Byers of San Antonio, Texas, Kristi and husband, Bill House of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Caroline Eloise Lasley and Brandon Sleater; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Lost Creek Cemetery with a memorial service at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Sheridan with Dr. Ed Simpson and Rev. Mark Lindsey officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Sheridan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 S. Rock, Sheridan, Ark., 72150.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the CVSU doctors and nurses at St. Vincent Infirmary for their constant love, care and compassion over the past few weeks.

Pallbearers will be Roy Baxley, Mike Alexander, Blake Duncan, Dennis Teague, Dr. Scott Winston, Jim Wright, Keith Koon and Scott DeMott as well as their wives. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sheridan Chapter Y PEO.

Roy A. Murtishaw, 65, of Pine Bluff died Monday at his home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

HUMPHREY — Jacquelyn McNealey, 39, of Humphrey died Tuesday at her home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

STAR CITY — James Russell Jones, 87, of Star City died Monday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Griffin Funeral Service at Star City.
