DEATHS FOR SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2009

Grover Holland Jr.

Grover Cleveland Holland, Jr., age 69, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, April 30, 2009.

Born May 15, 1939, in Nansemond County, Va., he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Holland Sr., and Mary Viola Casper Holland.

Grover spent the majority of his working career in multi-wall bag manufacturing, retiring from Mid-America Packaging in 2002 after nearly 38 years. He was also known for his ability to repair small engines and do most anything with his hands.

Grover was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by three sons; Greg (Tiffany) Holland of White Hall, Steven Holland of Pine Bluff, and Wayne (Jeanie) Holland of Redfield; two daughters, Laurie (Greg) Prentiss of Horn Lake, Miss., and Terri (Paul) Butler of Woodlawn; two sisters, Dot Pugh of Franklin, Va., and Ellen Wilkins of Norfolk, Va.; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many other loving friends and family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Southern Baptist Church of Grant County with Brother Billy Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Visitation: Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Hales

CONWAY — Mary L. Cummings Hales, 71, of Conway, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, at her daughter’s home. She was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Coleman, Texas.

She was the widow of Harris P. “Buddy” Hales Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hales of Maumelle, Ark., and Laura Townsend and husband Kevin of Conway; three brothers, Doyle Cummings of California, Curtis Cummings of Salinas, Calif., and Charles Cummmings of New Mexico; two grandsons, Jeremy Black and Andrew Osbourn, both of Conway; and one granddaughter, Amber Parker of Vicksburg, Miss.; seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

James McKinzie

HEBER SPRINGS — James E. “Tex” McKinzie age 67 of Heber Springs, formerly of Rison, died Friday at the Golden Living Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter, April Mc-Kinzie of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Joyce Bost of Sherrill, Ludie Rice of Malvern, Virginia Wells of Benbrooke, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday in Macedonia Cemetery near Rison. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.

Ouida Noble

MONTICELLO — Ouida Yount Noble, 91, of Monticello passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, at Drew Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Sour Lake, Texas, the daughter of the late William Yount and Mary Osborne Yount.

Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Noble of Monticello and Karen Noble Belknap and husband David of Flower Mound, Texas; one sister, Mary Goodwin of Monticello; two nephews, Tommy Goodwin and wife Jeannie of Conway and Billy Goodwin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery by Stephenson-Dearman.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Raybon

RISON — Dorothy Hyatt Raybon, 80, of Rison died Saturday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tinsman Baptist Church at Tinsman. Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Buie Funeral Home at Rison.

Lawrence C. Miller of Pine Bluff died Friday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by P.K. Miller Mortuary.

Adam Tomboli, 86, of Pine Bluff died Saturday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

DUMAS — Garey Walker of Dumas died Friday at Delta Memorial Hospital at Dumas. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.
