Jim Hill, owner, and A.B. Mhoon, former Monticellonian, who is manager, have announced the formal opening of the new Jefferson Hotel Barber Shop Tuesday.
The public is invited to pay a visit to Pine Bluff’s latest tonsorial establishment which is complete in every particular with all new fixtures.

Joe D. Gibbons, grandson of Mrs. Louis Flickinger of 1706 West 24th Avenue, has been appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He is the son of Joe Clyde Gibbons Jr., formerly of Pine Bluff.
Mr. and Mrs. J.P. “Sonny” Lybrand of Little Rock and formerly of Pine Bluff, left Sunday for Chicago to attend an LP Gas Company of Arkansas convention.
John Allen Searles Jr., Ricky Davis and Deborah Perchan, all seniors at Pine Bluff High School, and Georgette Althia Jones, a junior, were presented with special citation plaques for participating in a national “Who Fits the Picture?” good grooming search sponsored by Avon Products.

CANCUN, Mexico — A honeymoon ended in disaster at 3:30 Friday afternoon when an airplane carrying Laura Dawson Chamberlin, 25, daughter of Jefferson County Judge Lawrence E. Dawson, and her new husband, Greg Chamberlin of Fort Smith, crashed in a Mexican jungle, killing Mrs. Chamberlin and injuring her husband.
The couple, who had dated for six years, were married last Saturday by the Rev. Larry Wood at First Presbyterian Church at 717 West 32nd Avenue.
