CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION ANNOUNCES $1.5M

SPECIAL TO THE COMMERCIAL

Washington — Several rural Arkansas communities will share $1.5 million in stimulus money for police cars, fire trucks, and other safety equipment.

Provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, these funds were awarded through USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities program.

The announcement was made Tuesday by U.S. Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Reps. Mike Ross, Marion Berry and Vic Snyder.

Funds for these projects:

City of Eudora, $100,000, senior center; $23,000, police car

DeWitt Hospital and Nursing Home, $64,000, ambulance

First Presbyterian Child Care Center, City of Warren, $38,000, van

City of Warren, $12,000, police vehicle

City of Wilmot, $24,000, police car

City of Kingsland, $100,000 fire truck

City of Dermott, $100,000, senior center.
