SOUTHAMPTON, England — The S.S. Queen Mary, Great Britain’s mightiest liner, sailed at 4:35 p.m. (9:35 a.m. Central Standard time) today for New York.
On board the great vessel were 2,139 passengers.
Several small children whose parents are unable to care for them properly need preserves, jellies, dried fruit, etc., to give them proper diet and citizens of Pine Bluff who are interested in helping the children have been asked to make contributions of these items of food.
That this is worthy cause is vouched for by Mrs. J.H. Primm, J.W. Reap and E.W. Freeman.
