Desk Sergeant Noel C. McCain of the Pine Bluff police department, presented a four foot by seven foot all-wool American flag to the city today.
Sergeant McCain said he purchased the flag in 1925 and had no use of it at his home because of its size.
The flag has been placed in front of the city hall on East Barraque.
Miss Dorothy Jane Yaney was named valedictorian and Bobby Ray Harvill salutatorian of the Altheimer high school graduating class for 1942.

The Flighty Flapper Five played songs of the ‘20s Tuesday at he Senior Sesame Club’s annual spring luncheon held at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
Members of the group are Mrs. James Ford, Mrs. Cecil Allison, Mrs. R.E. Kinman, Mrs. J.C. Reeves and Mrs. Howard Wilkins.
Mrs. Fred J. Ingram is the chairman of the social activities committee. Co-chairmen of the decorations committee are Mrs. Henry F. Trotter Jr. and Mrs. Richard M. Perdue.

Stephen Boyd, the actor best known for his performance as Messala in “Ben-Hur,” collapsed and died of heart failure while playing golf yesterday.
He was 49.
ROME — Roberto Rossellini, an Italian film director and founder of the neo-realistic film movement after World War II, died today at his home, apparently of a heart attack.
He was 71.
Rossellini won worldwide attention for his tangled love affairs, including his marriage and divorce from Ingrid Bergman, a Swedish actress.
