PB STUDENTS RECEIVE SPECIAL OLYMPIC AWARDS

A group of Pine Bluff School District students attended the 2009 Special Olympic Summer Games at Harding University in Searcy May 21-23 where several won Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
Alexia Wilbourn captured the Gold medal in the 50 meter-dash in the female 8-11 division. Alesha Barron won the Silver medal in the 50-meter dash in the female 12-15 age group.
Clifton Jackson placed first, winning the Gold medal and Christopher Helloms placed second in the softball throw winning a Silver medal in the male 16-21 division.
Darnell Johnson earned a Gold medal in the running long jump in the male 8-11 division, Darren Matthews received a Gold medal in the 50-meter dash, 8-11 age group.
Fannie Carter won a Gold medal in the softball throw female 8-11 division. Jermiah Johnson captured the Gold medal in the softball throw in the age 12-15 division. Rodrick Bowman won first place in the male 12-15 division winning a Gold medal.
Michael Brunson won second place in the 50-meter dash male 8-11 age group winning the Silver medal. Michael Epperson won the Gold medal in the softball throw male 8-11 division. Sadeya Sibley received a Bronze medal in the softball throw 16-21 age group.
Tarraneish Alford won the Gold medal in the softball throw 8-11 age group. Trellody Thompson achieved fourth place in the running long jump. Miracle Dorn obtained a Gold medal in the 50-meter dash, female 12-15 age group and Savari McCloud won a Silver medal in the 50-meter dash, male 8-11.
