LT. BOB RAWLINSON COMPLETES LEADERSHIP COURSE

Saturday, June 20, 2009 10:19 PM CDT

SPECIAL TO THE COMMERCIAL

Pine Bluff police Lt. Bob Rawlinson recently completed a law enforcement leadership course conducted by the Criminal Justice Institute, a division of the University of Arkansas system.

Called the Arkansas Leader program, the course has been designated as a command college by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is one of only 16 programs throughout the country to have received than designation. The course was co-sponsored by the FBI.

Topics covered during the more than 40-hour course included leading to make a difference, ethics based leadership for career success, recruitment and retention, law enforcement communications-dealing with the media, and community values.

The invitation only course attracted law chiefs and high ranking representatives from law enforcement agencies in Arkansas and several surrounding states.

Lt. Gov. Bill Halter was the guest speaker during graduation ceremonies June 12.
