Jeff Adams Jr.

Rev. Jeff Adams Jr., 97, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

He was born to the late Jeff Adams Sr. and Mrs. Rosie Lee Adams in Homer, La.

He served in the United States Army. He served as pastor of three churches, Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church and Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for 57 years, and Richardson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years.

Survivors: his wife of 31 years, Dorlean Adams of Pine Bluff, Ark.; sons, Jeff Adams III of Pine Bluff, Ark., Rodricus Cole of Sherwood, Ark.; daughters, Bertha Swopes of Moscow, Ark., Jacquelyn Wright of Kansas City, Mo., and Kimberly Cole-Bentley of Pine Bluff, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be Monday, June 29 at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery in North Little Rock, Ark.

Visitation is from 5-6 p.m. at Trinity Annex Building, 2900 W. Sixth Ave., by Christian Way Funeral Home.
