Martha Berry

DUMAS — Mrs. Martha Berry, 78, of Dumas, died Wednesday, June 17 at Delta Memorial Hospital.

Born April 23, 1931, in Reedville, she was a daughter of the late James Harden Sr. and Teresa Fells Clark.

She was a member of Mount Moriah MBC, where she served as a member of the mission society and choir.

Survivors include five sons, Earl and Ricky Berry of Dumas, Raymond and Billy Berry of Pine Bluff, Charlie Berry Jr. of St. Louis; three daughters, Rubbie Berry of Pine Bluff, Patricia Wilburn of Liberal, Kan., Teretha Carter of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Arthur Harden of Bailey, Miss., Johnny Harden of Detroit, Mich., James Harden Jr. of Alexander, La.; three sisters, Lucille Nickelson of Little Rock, Magnolia Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Willie Brantley of Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Mount Moriah MBC with Rev. J.L. Morton officiating. Burial will be in Free Gift Cemetery in Dumas by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
