ROBERT BEARD

Robert G. “Bubba” Beard, 75, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at John McClelland Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born July 19, 1933 in McGehee, Ark., son of Chester F. and Vinnie McCurdy Beard.

Mr. Beard was reared and received his early education in Dumas and Pine Bluff. He served in the United States Navy.

He worked in the construction industry.

Mr. Beard was a member of Summit Baptist Church and East Lake Hunting and Fishing Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert G. Beard Jr.; and two brothers, Buddy Beard and Jack Beard.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Rogers Beard, whom he married July 19, 1955, in Greenville, Miss.; four daughters, Ann Bost (Jeff) of Tarry, Lynn Box, Susan Brigham and Carol Hardke (Burt), all of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. Tom Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Fitzhugh Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Robinson’s.
