MURDER SUSPECT SURRENDERS

Monday, June 29, 2009 11:13 AM CDT

A Pine Bluff man sought as a suspect in a June 21 homicide surrendered to authorities Sunday.

Sheriff’s Capt. Bernard Adams said Deaundre Cortez Jones, 26, was accompanied by attorney William Howard when he walked into the county detention center at about 1 p.m., and turned himself in.

Jones had been identified as a suspect in the shooting death of Vincent Rouse Jr., 23, whose body was found in a ditch in the 7200 block of Middle Warren Road.

In addition, Jones was being sought after a circuit judge revoked the bond Jones had posted on three felony drug related warrants.
