Cassie Frith
Cassie Lee Frith, 79, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Kilbourne, La., son of Ollie and Mertle Maddox Frith.
Mr. Frith was reared and received his early education in Lake Providence, La.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Frith was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Frith; two grandsons, David Moss and an infant; five brothers, Bobby Frith, Sonny Frith, Billy Frith and infant twins; and three sisters, Doris, Marie and an infant twin sister, Eassie Frith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Mayer Poposky Frith, whom he married Nov. 4, 1986, in Pine Bluff; two sons, Robert (Denise) Frith of Texas City, Texas and Oliver (Angela) Frith of Booneville; two stepdaughters, Therese Poposky (Robert) Riddle of Pine Bluff and MaryAnne Poposky and her best friend, Tana Comer, of Joelton, Tenn.; two brothers, Mitchell Frith of Selma, Calif., and Leon Frith of Forest, La.; seven grandchildren, William Frith, Bobby Frith, Pam Ring, Honda Pain, Cone Reed, Oliver “Bubo” Frith Jr. and Casey McCarran; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father L. Warren Harvey and Father Donald Murrain officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. A Vigil service will be 5:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
