DORIS BUERGER

CLINTON, La. — Buerger, Doris Ann Huckaby, a resident of Clinton, La., and a native of Griffith Springs, Ark., she died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at her home. She was 81 years old and retired from the 20th Judicial Court as a court reporter with 29 years of service.

Visiting was held at Clinton United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009, at Huckaby Cemetery, Griffith Springs conducted by Gene Finley.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Alice Elizabeth and Paul S. Kent, Clinton, and Lee Ann and Kenneth P. Maye, Central; brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin Martin and Betty Huckaby, Griffith Springs; five grandchildren, Allyson I. Kent Stewart, Gregory Paul Kent, Lindsay Olive Maye, Jonathan Winston Maye Sr. and SA Robert Lee Maye; eight great-grandchildren, James S. “Jacob” Hodges IV, Elizabeth Abigail Kent, Taylor Marie Rogillio, John Paul Hodges, Louis Jaden Willis, Cooper Allen Stewart, Kameran Breanne Kent and Jonathan Winston Maye Jr.; and two dear companions, Lucille Daniels and Fannie Mae Wilson.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alma Alice Huckaby; sister, Bobbie Jean Huckaby Odom; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Ann Kent Hodges.

Pallbearers will be Paul S. Kent, Kenneth P. Maye, James S. “Jay” Hodges III, Gerald A. Stewart, Gregory P. Kent, Jonathan W. Maye Sr. and SA Robert L. Maye.

Memorial donations may be made to Clinton United Methodist Church Educational Building Fund, P.O. Box 148, Clinton, La., 70722.

She was a 1946 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. She was a member of the LA Court Reporters Association, Clinton United Methodist Church and Friends of the Library.
