MONTICELLO — Duane Gonder, 24, of Plantersville, turned himself in to the Drew County Sheriff’s Department after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Marcus Gonder, Duane’s brother, was shot just after midnight Wednesday at his home in Plantersville in Drew County, about 15 miles south of Star City, the release stated.
Duane Gonder was wanted in connection with his brother’s death and a warrant was issued for capital murder and first-degree terroristic threatening the same day.
Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober stated in a press release that Duane Gonder called 911 and told the dispatcher he wanted to turn himself in to authorities. He surrendered without incident, Gober stated.
Duane Gonder’s pickup truck was located by police Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area about a mile and a half from the crime scene, the release said.
Investigators said the shooting was the result of a dispute between the brothers over a female friend. Duane Gonder is being held in the Drew County Detention Facility, the Associated Press reported.
