GLEN NEWTON


HOPE — Glen “Newt” Newton went to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, June 27, 2009. He was 90 years old.

He was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Cornerville, Ark., to Albert and Winnie Johnson Newton.

He is survived by one daughter, Claudia Franklin and husband, Doodle of Hope; two sisters, Dorothy Miller of Hot Springs, Ark., and Myrtle Jane Blankenship of Moscow, Ark.; three very special friends, Eunice Hewitt, Dana Bobo and Wayne Parker; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation was held Monday, June 29, 2009, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home in Hope, Ark.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in the First Presbyterian Church of Hope at 10 a.m. with Dr. Phil McLarty and Rev. Wayne Parker officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, Ark., under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
