BETTY ASHCRAFT

SHERIDAN — Betty Jean Thompson Ashcraft, age 69, of Sheridan, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant.

She was born June 17, 1940, in Elizabeth, La., a daughter of the late Worley and Hazel Johnson Thompson.

Ms. Ashcraft was a retired realtor with Century 21 Realty Company, and of the Baptist faith.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Matthew Vines; brother, Worley Thompson Jr.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Becki Thompson of Norco, La., Benny Vines of Richardson, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy Arnold of Washington, D.C.; brother, Ezra D. Thompson of Oakdale, La.; three sisters, Alyne (Ed) Rodgers of Sheridan, Ruby (Ed) Barnhart of Sheridan, Rita Carol Thompson of Commerce, Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today, July 3, 2009, at New Hope Cemetery with Brother Billy Hastings officiating.
