RETHA GLOVER

STAR CITY — Retha Owen Glover, 100, of Star City died Thursday at Gardner Nursing Center in Star City.
She was born June 28, 1909, in the Branchville area of Lincoln County, to the late Virgil B. “Virge” and Mae Grumbles Owen.
She married Bro. Veo Glover, March 31, 1928, in Lincoln County. He preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1994.
She attended the Branchville Community School near Star City and was a resident of Star City most of her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She also lived in Pine Bluff and in Clarksville and Dangerfield, Texas, while her husband pastored Missionary Baptist churches in those areas in addition to churches in and around Star City.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Stacy Owen, James Owen, Ira Owen; eight sisters, Vera Winston, Gladys Whitehead, Lorean Glover, Fannie Crutchfield, Eunice Fuqua, Elvie Wimberly, Marie McBryde, Alean Verdue; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Survivors include three sons, Veon Glover and wife, Bobbye of Star City, Samuel Lavoy Glover and wife, Jean of Joaquine. Texas, Joe Trelon Glover and wife, Cathy of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. John Marlar and Bro. Onas Gray will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
