HAZEL MELTON

Hazel Veoma Smith Melton, 82, of Pine Bluff died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Melton was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Glendale, to Linnie Johnson and Robert Nicholas Smith. She was reared and received her early education in Glendale.

She had lived in Pine Bluff most of her adult life.

She married J.D. Melton Dec. 8, 1945, in Glendale. She was a homemaker and an Avon Representative for over 30 years.

She was a member of First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and three sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy D. Melton, Harvey L. Melton and Russell N. Melton, all of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Juanita M. O'Dell of Graham, Texas; one sister, Genette Hale of Calmer; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Rev. Rick Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson's Sunday afternoon, 2-4.
