BOND SET IN SATURDAY STABBING

A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff woman who allegedly cut her boyfriend while he was trying to break up an altercation involving the woman and another female Saturday.

Circuit Judge Jodi Dennis set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Heather Bolin, 22, with second-degree domestic battery, based on an affidavit from police Detective Patrick Saffold.

Reading from that affidavit, Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said police were sent to 1301 S. Maple St. at about 4 a.m. in response to an altercation. When they arrived, Maurice Hampton reported that Bolin had cut his arm after he stepped between Bolin and a neighbor who were arguing.

Hampton told police Bolin was holidng a kitchen knife at the time.

Reed said Bolin claimed that the neighbor had thrown a bottle at her, hitting her in the hip and when she turned to grab her hip, accidentally cut Hampton on the arm.

Saffold reported that Bolin showed officers her hip, but they indicated the injury did not appear to be a recent one.

In addition to setting the bond, the judge ordered Bolin, who Reed said is on parole following a 2006 drug related conviction, to have no contact with Hampton until the case is settled.

Also Monday, a $1,500 bond was set for Sadie Lagrone, 44, after the judge ruled prosecutors had probable cause to charge Lagrone with second-degree battery on a police officer.

Reading from an affidavit from detective Sgt. Rick Hill, Reed said police were sent to 2200 S. Chestnut St. Thursday in response to a situation involving a vehicle.

Hill reported Lagrone had called police because her boyfriend had the keys to her vehicle and wouldn’t give them back, and while the officers were dealing with that, a female came out of the house and Lagrone began to fight with her.

Reed said police told Lagrone to stop fighting but she refused, and when an officer stepped between the two women, Lagrone scratched him in the face, leaving about a 2-inch scratch.

Both Lagrone and Bolin were told to come back to court July 20 at 9 a.m.
