STIMULUS MONEY TO FUND COMMUNITY PROJECTS

LITTLE ROCK — Thirteen communities in Arkansas, including two in Southeast Arkansas, will share $5.1 million in community block grants funded by the Arkansas Recovery Office announced Thursday.
Two projects in Southeast Arkansas to receive the federal stimulus funding are:
City of Dumas, $250,000 to renovate a building for the Delta Technology Education Center.
City of Lake Village, $250,000 for repair and reconstruction of Luna Lane.
The projects have been approved and are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant program. The grants are to be administrated by the grants division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, which is to receive $492,108 to cover administrative costs.
