Nearly three grams of cocaine, digital scales and two loaded guns were found Monday afternoon when police vice and narcotics officers served a search warrant at 1407 W. 29th Ave.
Following a court hearing Wednesday, Circuit Judge Berlin Jones ruled prosecutors had probable cause to charge Bernard Kearney, 39, with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Reading from an affidavit from Detective Kenneth Evans, Deputy Prosecutor Rik Ramsey said officers found a bag containing 2.9 grams of crack cocaine in a bedroom on the southeast corner, along with a set of postal scales and a set of digital scales with a white residue on it.
Also in the bedroom, officers found a .40-caliber Glock handgun with 10 rounds in the magazine, and a .9-millimeter handgun with 12 rounds in the magazine, Evans reported.
Ramsey said Kearney had prior convictions for burglary, theft of property, and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Jones set a $25,000 bond for Kearney, who told the court he would hire his own attorney.
