Four consultants from the International Downtown Executives Association (IDEA) were to arrive today and study Pine Bluff’s downtown and recommend what might be done to revitalize the area, according to a spokesman for the Inner City Alliance for Progress.

The consultation was arranged by the ad hoc Central Business Improvement Committee, which financed the visit by the four, along with Fifty for the Future.

  • LITTLE ROCK — Mayor James Jordon of Monticello and the cities of Dumas and Fordyce were recognized recently by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce here for outstanding community leadership and development.

    The two cities received “Awards of Excellence” for outstanding progress in civic-betterment projects during the past year.
