STATE’S 1ST LOTTERY DIRECTOR TO SPEAK TO ROTARY CLUB

Ernie Passaillaigue, the state’s first lottery director, is scheduled to speak at the meeting of the Pine Bluff Rotary Club at noon Tuesday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
Passailaigue is a certified public accountant and he led the startup of South Carolina’s lottery in 2001.
He was managing partner of an accounting firm at Charleston, S.C. for 16 years and during that time he taught at Charleston Southern University, College of Charleston, The Citadel, Webster University and Central Michigan University.
He owned the Charleston Royals, later becoming the Charleston Rainbows, minor league baseball team for seven years.
He began meeting with Arkansas officials to give advise on lottery matters in 2007, and on June 5 he was ask to take charge of the new Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.
Passaillaigue began working for the lottery on June 29.
