LITTLE ROCK — Will the scenic Buffalo River area become a national park?
Three members of a National Park Service team indicated yesterday they would recommend to the Interior Department that a park be located along the Buffalo’s banks.
A City Council fact-finding committee decided last night to prepare a report citing the use of urban renewal as the solution to the establishment of a Pine Bluff civic center.
Chairman H.F. Dial appointed Louis Ramsey Jr., an attorney, to direct a subcommittee of three in the writing of a rough draft of the report.
Mrs. Willa Jean Walter, a leading Pilot Club worker, is the new president of the Jefferson County unit of the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. J.G. Sifford will be secretary and Mrs. Hugh E. Snow is the new vice president.
Homer M. Hart, manager of the Pine Bluff Credit Bureau, was the recipient Friday of the Top Hand Award, presented by the Chilton-Singleton-Chilton Credit Bureau Management Organization.
